This comment should not be a negative criticism but solely from my opinion based on my recent dining experience.I remember when the lunch menu used to be $4.75 (still have their old menu) and now it's $11.95 - time change for sure. It's a struggle for everyone. I'm glad LHK is still around.I had one of the lunch specials and it was still as flavorful as I remember. Will be coming back but not as frequently as I used to.

My family has been coming here for literal decades, even when they were located in their previous location further down on San Pablo Ave. My grandparents loved going there when they were still alive and got to know the owner and staff well. Nearly all of the adults' birthdays were spent there.Family doesn't eat out nearly as often these days, but still visits from time to time. We decided to get a large take-out order from here for Christmas dinner this year. I called early in the afternoon for a 5pm pick-up to give them time especially because we were ordering a whole Peking duck.We arrived at 5pm to pick-up the order, but it wasn't ready yet, but they were unsurprisingly VERY busy with a ton of take-out orders and a good handful of parties dining in as well. The staff was doing their best to juggle both take-out orders and those dining in, but the system is old-fashioned with pen and paper. They would probably operate faster and with a little less chaos with some kind of computerized system, but they seem determined to stay with the traditional system. We were patient and waited to be asked which order we were waiting for and for our food to be ready. (Other people waiting were patient as well, but I can imagine there could be people who would get impatient and unforgiving.)Finally the order was ready and we took everything home. Everything we ordered was correct and looked great for take-out. The Peking duck looked amazing (even though I couldn't eat it), and the rest of my family said it was delicious and perfectly cooked. My dad was savoring it and feeling nostalgic as he ate.I got an order of salt & pepper tofu, which, despite being fried, was surprisingly very light and fluffy. I inhaled a lot of that tofu. We also got an order of garlic pea vines, which are delightfully delicious. Easily one of my favorite vegetables that I don't often eat.Boyfriend got their garlic chicken and really enjoyed it. (My dad tried some of it, too, and also really enjoyed it.)We were extremely satisfied with our entire meal and happy to have some traditional Cantonese food for Christmas dinner!

My Love to Animals
I’ve been here many times before with and without family and their food was always great although they lack customer service, I’ve always ordered 5 things from their menu I would receive it every-time in under 15 mins or less. This time I was disappointed on how they attended me, they made me wait over an hour just to send out my appetizer(There were only 3 tables being used at this time). At one point me and the rest of my family felt forgotten and wanted to leave due to the long wait, we’ve waited a bit more and they’d bring us our food. The food was great as always and we were about to pay. As we were paying we gave the amount they were asking. Until they started asking for tips, I thought this was joke at first until they were actually questioning me on why there isn’t a tip. I was astonished on why they’d want a tip, I’ve told them that we’ve waited a long time for our food. Their expressions showed that they didn’t really care and just wanted to get tipped. They’d talk in their language to each other about me not tipping. At this point I walked out because of this situation. I only tipped when people show hospitality to their guests instead of forgetting that they’re there. Tips should be earned instead of being asked for. This is still a good restaurant but they lack to provide decent customer service to their guest.
We love this place! Everything is the real deal and delicious! Our special favorites are the hot and sour soup, the dry fried pork ribs, green beans and (Surprise!) Pumpkin, and the yummy walnut prawns. If you like Chinese restaurants, I think you'll love this one.

I don't know why it's taken me so long to write a review for this place. My family has pretty much been going here consistently for about 15 years now and it never disappoints! Our true go to restaurant that makes everyone in the family happy! The food here will satisfy all your Chinese food cravings! And everything is always so delicious! Their portions are generous and their waitstaff is always so kind! Truly love this place.
