The staff is always nice and attentive. Pretty busy on Valentine's Day with a lot of families and large groups, but they were still able to accommodate and serve quickly. The food was great as always. A lovely neighborhood gem.

This was a takeout order of Butternut Asiago Tortellaci, which should have been very tasty. Instead it was a smarmy mess of undercooked cubes of butternut squash, pasta of unknown type--sort of like a half-folded pasta pancake--, and lots of gummy sauce. The dish was unappealing to look at, and absolutely tasteless to eat. The dish would have been entirely forgettable except that it was such glutinous concoction AND cost almost $30, neither of which I'l forget!!!! What a major disappointment. I won't be ordering from Romano's again, that's for sure.

We loved our server. However the service was slow. Seems like the kitchen could not keep up with service. The restaurant was not crowded but it took more than usual to get our food.

The fare has declined. The salad only had slithers of carrots and lettuce not really a salad. The male waiter was terrible but he was doubling as bar tender. I'm had gotten use to the great service from Dolly. The food has been better and the bread was old and stale.
Wheelchair accessibility: My poor hip could walk well on its slope.

This nice Italian restaurant in the El Cerrito location has been a go to place for my parents and I for several years. Whenever we would have a craving for reasonably priced Italian cuisine such as pasta carbonara , spaghetti and meatballs or tiramisu and good coffee Macaroni Grill was the place. My mom and I have visited this location twice this past month. The food and service is as I said, consistently good. However, on these last two occasions our dining experience has had a distraction emanating from the kitchen. The first time I thought it was from a patron from the bar area, but we came to realize it was a staff member from the kitchen. A constant random screaming and shouting coming from behind the wall of the grill area. I understand that there are some individuals that have medical issues that prevents them from controlling their bodily functions, and I understand they have every right to work and participate in society, but the screams and random shouts from this kitchen staff member could be heard throughout the dining room and was nerve racking for my mom. This seems to happen from late afternoon through dinner time, as we came into this Macaroni Grill mid afternoon for Sunday lunch and it was peaceful then. If the management can address this situation, we may come back again.

Picked up to goDietary restrictions: I searched for any dairy-free options. Usually the seafood option is the best bet for non-dairy, however, the Macaroni grill seafood option ($26) comes with a “lemon butter” sauce (see picture) WAY more creamy that I had hoped. And I can confirm that there was plenty of dairy in it. It was delicious, as was the. Chicken cavities but both were very dairy intensive
Very fast service. Food wasn't super hot. Meal felt rushed. The restaurant wasn't very busy as it was midweek. Our server was accommodating with letting us choose a table to sit at.
