A great store with wide variety. Sorry to see it go. May be it could have adapted to the Bay Area's quirky, pro-local personality with more community events and connecting with local influencers. But Bay Area could have used such a consumer friendly store as well. May be Decathlon can find a better home in the Fremont/Dublin/Danville area.

Wow sorry to hear this store is closing It was the best kind of sporting goods store in the area. Yeah we have other stores that carry sporting goods but the cost and quality here can't be beat. I do feel that they could have done better promotions to let folks know that they are here. But I will really be missing this addition to what once use to be toys are us

I've been meaning to come by here, but haven't. COVID, not going out much, not traveling to E-ville so much, etc. But, I read a French post lamenting the fact that they were closing. Well, I went by and it was rather meh. First, I don't do French sizes. I just don't. I've been to France and it's a no. But they didn't have the American Size equivalent. I know that our body types are different and if they wanted to do something different, such as have something explaining that, it would have been helpful. I know they don't think that we read, but some of us do, and we readers would have appreciated the heads up. Next, I got a yoga pillow. At least I wanted to. It was on a shelf that said that it was $20. The sign outside touted a sale of 50% only to learn upon entry that it was only 20%. Ok, so I get the $20 pillow and find out that it's $40. How? I wanted to look for dumbells. I was pretty excited about it. However, they had none. The weightlifting are was quite paultry. They had three. And I had to hunt for them. Lastly, I made my purchase of a knee protector. And voila! It was the same as the advertised price, unlike my pillow above. The problem is that I put my card into the reader and the reader was hooked up to another machine. What?!? Never again!!! I'm glad that I didn't waste time coming earlier. I spent time there that I'll never get back and I'm glad they are closing.

I had such a great experience shopping here that I felt compelled to write them a review. Before Christmas I was looking to purchase a set of kids golf clubs for my son to play with me during his winter break. I looked online and there was only ONE store that had anything in stock that was decent and it was Decathlon. Despite it being over an hour drive away, I thought it would be worth it to swing out and pick up the set I saw online. Before going I called the store and spoke with someone who was very helpful and went to the floor to double check that they had that set in stock. Lucky for me, the had one and he offered to hold it for me till I got there. I had never heard of Decathlon before prior to this experience and I was surprised how huge the store was and the wide range of sporting products they had when I walked in. Who knew?! In any case, I was able to gran and go thanks to the wonderful associate that held onto the clubs for me. However, after returning home I realized that one of the pieces was missing. Tried contacting corporate customer service and they said I had to contact the store. After contacting the store, they were surprisingly able to find the missing piece and was going to keep it there for me. Unfortunately because it's such a long drive I wasn't able to swing by for 2 weeks. I reached out again and they kindly offered to mail it to me. I am just very happy with their customer service so I'd recommend this store for sure.

A great place to buy all your needs for anything Athletic. They have so many options on gear to buy for any event. The team gave us great advice and input on what to get. They also gave us great advice on how to save money and provided deals for us. I especially want to thank Chris, he schooled us on all the winter gear we needed for our trip to Tahoe in the snow! Big help from him! Highly recommend checking out this store!

Still $40 for a plastic jacket. It's not like the stuff is cheap. But the cuts and material is just cheaper china stuff. But even target has nice looking china stuff. I couldn't find anything that looked or felt good.

I was there looking for hiking shoes. Some shoes seemed to have construction flaws with the bigger sizes, as some poorly stitched parts were constantly poking/rubbing against the upper side of the foot. I ended up buying shoes for $100 and later found that Decathlon sells the exact same shoes for $70 on their Europe website. Note that these are the regular prices, no discounts involved. That demonstrates really bad value for US buyers. Also, many shoes are real toe crunchers. You're forced to buy 1 size bigger than usual just because those shoes are not wide enough in the toe area.Cannot recommend.

I walked into to see an armed guard wearing full militia gear and a bullet-proof vest. I asked me to leave, so I did.

Nice to see things on display so I can see what I'm buying, especially with the tents it's much easier to see how much space you really need.

I used the air mattress once and I went to use it again 2 months later and the inside was filled with mold! I stored it properly and everything! I've never had this happen before with any other air mattresses from places like REI, Big 5, and Bass Pro Shop! That's what I get for buying this cheap French stuff I guess :/

Return policy is lies. They say 12 month return but it is not true… staff wouldn’t take back an unused cooler. They said it had been used (it hadn’t). Better to support places like REI instead of corporations who only care about marketing and profit

Never purchase online from Decathlon. I had to return one item, and it took them one month to reply and they ended up denying my refund because FedEX had damaged my shipment (or so they say), so they claimed "customer mishandling ". Please stay away from this store.

First time in this store. Floor samples to try before buying exercise equipment. This came in handy as I bought a Domyos EB120 stationary bike. Compact size, but will hold up to 300#s of body weight. Two year warranty, based on an average use of 3 hours per week. On sale for less than $200.
