Beautiful view of the water, and food is AMAZING! Really takes me back to HK. Highly recommend the pig feet ginger in vinegar dish and the thousand layer cake – can’t find it anywhere else!

Ruined my Christmas dinner. Don't take so many reservations if you can't handle the business. That was my 2 star previous review. We returned tonight because we were close and wanted to watch the sunset. The staff was welcoming, the food was very good and the view was incredible. On both visits we would have enjoyed a server more tuned into our enjoyment .Dietary restrictions: ordered fun ( rice) noodles due to a gluten allergy. They subbed wheat noodles.

We brought out of town family here for a special experience. First, the good: - The main dining room is accessible with a wheelchair lift, which the staff kindly deployed for the person in our party who uses a wheelchair. - The food was very good in terms of flavors and quality. - We were seated at a nice view table, which I had requested when reserving. - They accommodated a request to leave the seafood out of a particular dish (and it was delicious). Not so good: - Waiter visibly rolled his eyes when we asked for forks for the 2 of our party who were out-of-towners and the one who is disabled. - Other tables around us had staff come by frequently to check on them, offer fresh tea, etc. Not us, we were pretty much ignored. - I had to ask for the condiments that should accompany some of the dishes (basics like soy sauce, hot oil, and vinegar for potstickers), unlike other tables which had them automatically brought to them. - They forgot one of the savory dishes we had ordered; then it arrived at our table after the sweets. - We asked for water and waited, waited, waited, asked again, someone tried to pour water into our empty drinks glasses (which hadn't been cleared, nor had refills been offered). Finally we did get waters toward the end of the meal. - When we were clearly finished and looking around to pay our bill, our waiter had disappeared entirely. When I was able to make eye contact, he literally waved me off. He finally brought it, then disappeared again. Eventually returned, took our credit card, then spent another 10 minutes at the bar mixing drinks for a large party rather than bringing that check right back for us to sign so that we could leave. Again, this was notable because other tables around us received attentive service. Overall, we had a good time by putting the poor service out of our minds, focusing on the lovely view and delicious food.

Can confirm, bad reviews are accurate. Beware of banquet menu waitstaff service. If you care about service do not come here. And don't throw your birthday or wedding banquet party here.I spent $2250 ($343 tip included, receipt posted on here for reference) for the night for 23 people, two tables. The beautiful bay view is not worth it, nor was the food to ever return again.I would recommend R&G lounge or great eastern in SF. They were having the Chinese parade the Saturday of my banquet so that was not an option.Reasons for bad service: the 18% tip is mandatory and included, so they didn't care at all. In fact they (the man on the black suit and the man in the white vest) were straight rude about everything including getting water refilled and taking away empty plates. The server in the white vest practically throws the soup onto the table. And anyone who thinks it's because we were bad customers, no way, we just weren't regulars (who they were very nice to it seemed to the table next to us, which honestly feels like they were rubbing it in, in contrast to our treatment as customers).AND They talked back (in Cantonese)!Examples:1. My cousin: hands over empty plate to help serverServer: can't you see I'm doing something, let me finish this first2. The table has 11 soup bowls for my family table. The server comes out with the big soup bowl and takes one bowl away, and my family member says, we have 11 people at this table, and the server says, "this banquet menu is for 10, you have 11". Which the restaurant knew about two weeks prior when I reserved the two tables. My family member politely then asked, can you distribute the soup between 11 and give us each less soup then? Which he then did, because why not and why even mention that the banquet menu was for 10? RUDEWe needed water at my friend table so I went and brought the empty pitcher to the waiter in the black suit and he said "OK wait, I'll do it later", then while I was standing around talking to my family members at the family table, he hands over to me a filled water pitcher. Okay? So I do his job and walk it over to my friend table. What a punk, seriously. The smoked black cod was undercooked at my family table and they had to send it back to have it cooked some more. Also, for a banquet party they didn't even give new plates mid 9 course meal (after crab, and no hand towels, which R&G lounge provides). Also because my friends are artists and queer, I think it might be the reason for their caustic attitude. My table of friends mostly did not know Cantonese besides myself, so the waitstaff couldn't talk back to us, since their English is not great. But because I have a lovely family and wonderful friends, they all laughed about it in the end. And we definitely will never be returning.I recommend Cantonese speaking people do the same unless you want some inspiration on a comedy highlighting the rude audacity of the wait staff at Hong Kong east ocean.

The food Is ok. but the service and environment health Is terrible, At first the waiter brought us four bowls, all dirty, and the biggest exaggeration was that one of them had meat on it!One of the waitresses, when we questioned her, she replied to us directly, “I'm not a waitress don't ask me.” I was like ???

Cantonese restaurant with a great view of the bay. The dimsum is average compared to the rest of the bay area, but the view is awesome from the dining hall.

Quality went down a lot. I used to love their cold tofu with preserved egg (hard tofu and no soy sauce), the giant clam noodle, chicken feet (not seasoned enough) salted egg bun (not oozing liquid as it was hard) and the wrap rice lo mai gai (not much meat and no salted egg yolk) But now they are all not good. They still have the best hargao tho! Beef balls and pork rolls are good. The two of us and they automatically charge for 16% service charge on top of our bill. Not coming back.

You will pay double for what you would get at other Chinese restaurants, and get less food. Service is mediocre. Too much to pay for a view of the bay. Don't go there, there are better alternatives.

We expected much more of this restaurants based on reviews. We were pretty disappointed. Food was fresh, but not consisted in quality ;seafood soup, $25 was a big Meh. Dumplings were good. Chinese eggplants were another Meh. Service was inattentive and the server forgot our beer as we had remind another one for the third time. Ming Tasty, a funky little place in Chinatown in Oakland is by far better and less expensive.
