Today, we ordered a chicken shawarma platter from Gaters, and it was incredibly disappointing. To my surprise, they substituted naan for the usual pita, which imparted an unpleasant aroma to the dish. The chicken shawarma itself was excessively spicy, bordering on bitterness, making it nearly inedible. Furthermore, the garlic fries were far from fresh; they seemed like leftovers from a day or two ago. It pains me to say that this restaurant, once known for its quality, has seen a significant decline."

Order via Uber eats under the guise of "vegan falafel spot" which doesn't exist and I'm actually concerned that a place claiming to be vegan serves meat. We received Greek salad instead of tabouleh. Which was very disappointing considering we chose this place only because we wanted tabouleh. The falafel plate comes with rice and there was not any rice. The wrap was TINY-- especially for the price. We feel robbed, frankly. DO NOT COME HERE and do NOT order from a falafel place with the address 3846 Mowry Ave. YIKES.

Disappointed with the serving size of the food. It is my first time here trying to give this place a try. I ordered 3 meat platter however seems only two meat was packed and the meat serving was only 4-5 slices of gyro and a few cubed chicken.

Gaters is money! I have read the reviews and I have to say....very disappointed. Every meal I have ever seen the kitchen feverishly preparing has hit the spot! The service is great considering it's a quick Mediterranean bite. Aesthetically it's not the place to bring the fam. So the oener is accommodating lol

Place has declined heavily in the past few years. Used to eat here weekly with my friends, and would even come during Ramadan hours late at night with my friends who were Muslim because this place was that good. Looks like recent reviews were right when they said this place has declined. Food is bland, used to be so full of flavor and spices, tender and juicy meat, loads of sauce. But I recently got a chicken gyro that was on the dry side, didn't taste like much, barely any sauce. The worst part is I FOUND A TOOTHPICK IN THE MIDDLE OF MY GYRO. I understand that they use it to keep the gyro together. But this was literally in the middle of my sandwich, the entire toothpick was inside my gyro. Service was fine, food came out quick. Same ambiance as it once was, but internally the food has declined. Will not be going back unfortunately.

Excellent service by kumar and Arvin's funky. This is my favorite place to come to in the Bay Area! I highly recommend their gyros and combination plate. A++++

Amazing and tasty food, definitely one of the best spots to get food at in Fremont! Love coming here all the time!
The quality and flavor of the chicken and beef sure has changed. We used to come here all the time when the crazy lady worked here but she ran a tight ship. Now it's not the same. $50 for 2 mediocre salads. I'm ok I'll just make it at home next time

I ordered over Grubhub and decided to set it for 10:40 3/11 pickup after my haircut in the same shopping center. Dropped by at 10:45. Told the guy it was a pickup order for David. After opening at work. I noticed it was someone's else order. I was so disappointed.

Gaters is a wonderful place to eat. The people are friendly and the gyro meat melts in your mouth. The Falafel is fresh and crispy and it is right next to Baskin Robbins which makes it fun to go and easily get dessert. My younger son loves their fries and my older son practically wants to eat their lamb gyro with mint sauce every day. It is definitely worth trying with the family if you have never gone before.

I think they ran out of salt or seasonings because the food is horrid and tasteless. Like that is even going on. This place is not the same like before. The workers also look like they hate their job.

Bad food. Bad customer service. I placed a mobile order and when I got to the restaurant the guy in the register said several times that they didn't have my order even though I showed them my phone with the order. I ended up getting my food and to my surprise it was blend and cold. Wouldn't recommend this place
