On May 2, 2020, no one working in the restaurant was wearing a face mask. This despite a public health order from Alameda County mandating all restaurant workers wear masks that started more than a week prior. I will not be back if they don't prioritize the health and safety of their staff and customers.
Nice Indian Chaat items with generous portions. Value for Money. ?
Love going to this place. Fish curry is amazing. We also tried their chili fish and it was very good. They serve hot freshly rolled (not the packaged kind) chapatis, that are so soft and great tasting. Mango lassi is freshly prepared too and was just as it should be! One of the best places for Indian food in Fremont.
Food is good but they raised the prices. Price was their differentiator , food is nothing extra ordinary . Also the seating and ambiance is bare minimum
The place has really good food. I usually order the meat combination with lamb, chicken, and fish and it's bomb. 2 stars taken away because of how dirty the forks, plates, and water cups were.
Service was great they took care of me right away. The garlic butter naan was some of the best that I've ever had. Above all my concern the quality of the food excellent the customer service excellent. And the fact that the kitchen is open and you can see what's going on is wonderful five stars
I went to an event in the Fremont area and was craving some Gol Gappe/Pani Puri. I came across Taj-e-chaat on yelp. They're open till 10:30 so my sister and I decided to stop by. We ordered pani puri and Papri Chaat. The Pani for the pani poori was one of the best I have had. The papri chaat was good but it was a bit sweet. There was too much sugar in the yogurt. I also had to add the green chutney myself and wish there was some onions in there. Anyways, overall I thought whatever we ordered was pretty tasty. I will definitely be returning the next time I am in the area to try more of their food. Side note : the bathrooms could use some upkeep. Granted it was the end of the day, the bathroom smelled pretty bad and wasn't clean.
Love this place! Been going here since 7 years and its great. (Favorite food: The Chicken wrap) ??

Not very clean. Food taste wise, moderate. Ordered chicken pakora , samosa and tea. Not liked much.
The food's delicious. Try the bhatura rolls, they're insane.
Best biryani I ever ate. Spices were balanced not overpowering--they compliment the yogart perfectly. Food is plentiful and service prompt. Check this place out if you are near the hub in fremont.
we ordered veg briyani. There was some kind of smell in the food it was for sure made 2-3 days back. Also the kadai paneer was not fresh.
They made yummy stuff. Customer service is excellent
O you gonna love this place. After being not happy with so many place . Taste buds got satisfied here . I had karhai chiken with tandoori roti . It was perfect. Will come back again. And i higly reccomend this place.
What a place . The food is excellent. Quick service . I had tandoori roti with karhai chiken. With salt lassi. That was a treat . My wife tried the aloo paratha with chai . This is a 10/10 place for good food.
My husband and I came in for a quick bit to eat close to closing time and we ordered the Veggie Biryani, Samosa Chaat and Samosa plate. Everything was superb. Highly recommend if your looking for Indian Street food and etc.
Would give negative stars if possible. I ordered their "special" grill mix to go. Order came out in less than 10 minutes. Chicken was extremely hard and kabob was cold from inside. Naan was the only thing they prepared fresh. Absolutely disappointed by the service, I had to throw away all of it as it was not edible :(
Tried some food was good like Samosa chaat. But don't go with Egg Biryani, they call Egg fried Rice to Egg Biryani.
Worst food quality. Shocked to see 4 rating.
The food is good but they don’t do it in a hygiene way.
I love this place and am a frequent visitor. My favorite here is chole bhathure abd veggie rolls.
Over rated place. Too basic dishes with less than ordinary taste. Beware of yogurt based dishes; seemed to be stale. Very dirty ambience.
Best Indian food in Fremont! An abundance of variety, plenty of options and the eating areas are consistently clean.
I would give zero for worse service. I ordered bhelpuri here it's completely tasteless with no spices. Guy in the counter having bad attitude towards customers. When I request for tomato here replies this way, we serve our bhel Puri like this. Later , I ordered samosa chat which was good. Charge customers only if you server the quality food being notified he still charged me. When you are taking money correctly from customers give them a proper food. Will never come again and I will recommend my friends in Fremont not to go this place..
We ordered fish pakore here today..but the fish was old and yellow from inside .. probably they marinated day before..when we called em to give feedback that they could improve this..they were like come n get the refund but I think they should understand the buissness that feedback is really important to grow the restraunt buissness new cumors...
Love the food!! If you crave some real, delicious, authentic Punjabi chholey bhature or egg bhurji or wrap or any other indian food, which is not dwelling in too much oil, Try this place, I can guarantee you, you will fall in love. I travel three cities to have the food here atleast two times in a month! I just love this food here.
It's a small place with a seating space of probably 25 people. But the food is amazing. Their tawa rotis are the best. It's the same size as a regular plate and not very thick. It Felt like homemade rotis and butter made them even better. I had these rotis with Bhindi Masala and Kadai Chicken. Make sure to mention spicy if you like your food spicy as the curries are not very spicy by default. Both of the curries tasted amazing. Totally amazing. In addition, you can also see the kitchen and it's pretty clean, so there's nothing to worry about in that front too.
Very ok food. Chicken curry is like they throw chicken into premise curry. Just ok. Goat curry is full of chunks of inedible fat. And food is not cheap unlike what yelp says
I ordered mild biryani, the food was super hot. The stuff are very friendly.
Ya, I know. Hella basic. But that's who I be. The plate however is not basic. Sauce is a good level of spice and the chicken is really good. Naan is freshly made, delicious!
Ordered a mango lussi on a hot summer day. It was without ice and not even cold! I asked for ice and they said they have to get it from somewhere..I asked again and felt ignored ! I mean, if I order for a cold drink and pay for it in advance..the least they can do is serve it cold! Disappointed !
We ordered vegetarian food. Everything was good except Veggie Biryani !!! Aloo tikki chaat and kadhai paneer was very good.
Yummy delicious food... especially the chili chicken...
This is a small restaurant in a strip mall across Target. It serves standard north Indian fare and has been pretty consistent over the years. Chole-bhature, biryani and curries are pretty decent. Overall, if you have craving for Indian food you cannot go wrong. The bathroom could be better maintained.
Taj e chaat makes very good samosa chaats. I also like their lamb boti wraps. Taj e chaat is more of a 3.5 star place. I'll bump it to a 4 star rating are for the 2 items I like there. The other items like the mixed grill plate is kind of pricey for a small amount of food you get. Usually can go to a Indian buffet and eat to your hearts delight lots of Indian dishes. I really wouldnt make a practice of eating at taj e chaat too often bc an Indian buffet is better, quantity and the quality is comparable. Lately their prices have increased by $1-2 which makes it less of a value. When I do have a hankering for samosa chaat or lamb wrap, I will frequent this place sometimes.
Taj e Chat, a unique indian chat corner place which houses north indian specialties. This place is know for quick grabs and dine in. The service is prompt, but there is very limited space inside for hangout. Samosa chat is very good and is my usual bite. Very good place for the price! This is located near the fremont hub and is central to fremont
I enjoyed the Indian food and the quality was also pretty good especially for an Indian restaurant. The area near the bathrooms were EXTREMELY dirty and just looked like they placed a ton of extra stuff in their. But the food was delicious. The most amazing homemade, fresh, well presented and scrumptious food within three hundred miles. A frequent visitor and never disappointed! . The garlic naans are out of this world. A very friendly family operated food joint. Reasonably priced. Love , love this place â¤ï¸
This used to be our go to place for quick bites and samosas. Ordered samosa that Teated bad and smelling expired . They sale most expansive samosas and no quality check . 2 star for past experience.
Platters are best . My fav is mixed grill platter.
