One can easily miss Taqueria Zapata if not looking for it. It's hidden in the corner of a small shopping center. The service was good. Good portion size for the food.

First It did not appear the woman at the front wash her hands to prepare the food. Second the place smelled like sewage I feel sorry for my daughter that I let her try some of the food. For the woman there please wear descent clothes. I do not want to see fat sticking out of the clothes, specially before a meal.

Not a bad hole-in-the-wall joint. In fact, it's tucked into a corner of a strip center which made it ever so slightly difficult to find. For a relatively small amount of dough, I got two good sized quesabirria tacos, a container of consomme, chips, limes, radishes, and a can of diet coke. The consomme had a good depth of flavor after a couple of squeezes of the lime and the addition of the radishes. It contained small bits of rice (?), herbs, onions, etc. The tacos themselves were not very crunchy. However, they were packed with the birria meat and oh so gooey cheese. It was a hearty lunch and I left satisfied!

I haven't been to this location is a looooooong time, maybe even years. When I walked inside it looks very run down and not a vibe at all. There was also a very off putting smell (maybe bad bathroom plumbing or something). Regardless I got some carne asada fries for my son per his request. The carne (steak) was we'll seasoned and overall they were very tasty. If you're gonna try the food get it to go or DoorDash because coming inside is a turnoff. Also the cashier guy taking the order looks less than thrilled to be there taking your order.

Finally got to try this place out after years later and living so close to it and hearing about it from many people. Came in with one of my friends and tried it out as they liked it. I ordered the birria qusedillla to share but also tried some of my friends tacos, and torta, and birria tacos and a few other dishes. The food was amazing and the also told us they have special deals daily. I want to come back and try their chile rellenos and their pasole. Service is super good and the staff are really nice. Gotta come and get a plate to see what I mean. The birria qusedilla has been my go to so far. I will try the taco salad the next visit!

This place used to be so good many moons ago when Berta was the owner. I tried Zapata last year and it wasn't good. I was in the area recently, so I thought I would give it another shot. The food was terrible, not to mention the chips were stale just like the last time. The lady taking the order was definitely not friendly. Would I return again for a third shot? NO!

We had just moved here last summer and this review is long overdue. The food was great the first few times along with customer service. We ordered from a delivery platform - can't recall which - but we were brought the wrong food. Not entirely their fault but we ended up driving over to pick up anyway and when we told the cook/cashier what happened, he said - "that's not my fault." We ordered extra food for lunch the next day and the tamales were SPOILED. Haven't been back since.

Love Me now

I came in for chicken tamales... when I walked in the place had a weird smell (bad). The tamales were nasty , bland no taste and seemed to be old! Worst Mexican food in Fremont.

Carnitas tacos hit the spot and I spun around after first couple of bites to order a couple more...stomach takes charge sometimes!

Ordered a veg burrito and it wasn't good compared to places like Amelia's or Taqueria Limon. Tortilla chips were hard like. Not going back.
