One star because I sulked for 4 hours to my girlfriend to let me go to Karaoke. She dropped me off and I spent 2 hours looking for this place and realised it has been closed. Spent another 30 minutes trying to ask for a Corona in a Vietnamese restaurant which turned out to be a hair salon.

Before it recently closed this place was the kind of bar you didn't need to ask to be served in a dirty glass. Dirty glasses were compliments of the House. Alleys in Skid Row don't smell near as bad as the decades of piss and accumulated funk unwashed in the spacious restrooms. Repulsive, disgusting and nasty. The Health department could have used this bar as a new hire training facility. No penny was left uncounted and no free watered down drink ever poured by the proud proprietor John. But hell after a few drinks good fun and laughs can be had just about anywhere. Many laughs, good stories and great memories were shared over the years. The regulars and bartenders will be missed ......until we find our next watering hole. RIP Dirty Carpet Lounge!!!!

I don't know why I haven't reviewed this place yet!! I have been going to Gaynors for almost 15 years now. The place has been through many changes, from "Samoan Nights" to the brief stint that was "Misquote Lounge". Always a fun and friendly atmosphere. The owner "John" his staff and other patrons are awesome. I never had a bad experience here. Ambience: it's a fun local dive bar. Price: Slightly more pricey than most dives. I recommend everyone to try this bar out.

Some guy I was dating took me here on one of our dates. It was interesting because it's a dive bar in the middle of a bunch of Vietnamese establishments. 3 star kind of bar. Then there's the however part. I used to enjoy coming here. They have a pool table and karaoke. Unfortunately, the upkeep is a bit lacking. I understand that this place has been open for decades but seriously, the last time I was there I could not breathe! Not because I was sick or that there were poisonous fumes.. But because the bar itself stinks. It literally smells like the bathroom. People that come here on the regular obviously don't use yelp. People that use yelp probably won't come here, and if they do, I will find it hard to believe they would give it anything more than 2 stars, 3 if they're generous or were drunk when reviewing.

small little bar. if you're not a regular you could feel a little weird there. I believe they had some plumbing issues. but nice little bar.

Great karaoke and reasonable drink prices. The bartender Thursday thru Sunday nights is a sweetheart (Denise). So come check this place out

this bar sucks, not only does it smell like a sewer(walked in the ladies room and nearly threw up), the booze is watered down and way to expensive for this sh*t hole. i would never go back again. although the bartender was great......that the only asset of this bar

Layout - 5 stars. Atmosphere/crowd - 5 stars. Random location in the middle of a Vietnamese strip mall - 5 stars. I really want to give Gaynor's Lounge 5 stars...but I think the drinks are a little on the pricey side for a dive bar and one of my main criteria for a good dive is inexpensive drinks. A shot of patron was $8.00 here. But maybe I'm wrong or too damn cheap...maybe $8.00 a shot of patron is a good price? You tell me. There is karaoke on the weekends. They actually have a very good selection of music, though the main crowd seem to have a preference for oldies. There are songs from every genre. The karaoke DJ welcomes new singers into the rotation - you will feel very comfortable here. All you gotta do is fill out a little slip of paper and hand it over to the DJ. They even have cool little lamps to help you read from the binder of songs (it's pretty dark here). I've been here 4 times and it was a great experience each time. The crowd is usually older (I would say 40+), but they are very welcoming and friendly AND they cheer for you when you sing - EVEN when it's a random, obnoxious and totally butchered rendition of a Britney Spears song (Toxic)! I love the large sectional couch located towards the back of the bar which is really comfortable. There's 1 pool table and plenty of seating. The owner is friendly and he's a pretty good singer too! The bouncer is an Asian guy that likes to sing country music. Last time I was there about 2 weeks ago we were welcomed to left over snacks and cake from a birthday celebration. This place is pretty awesome.

It just doesn't get any better than this. It's a good old dive bar, so many different types of people all just looking for a good drink, kudos to the bar tender, and to sing, one more kudo to Rex the Karaoke DJ! It's a small place, has that old bar smell, but so much fun! Don't get dressed up to come, but when you do come be nice, the bouncer is cool but has no problem kicking you out. Leave your worries at the door, and don't worry most of the singers are not that good, it really is all about the good times.

Totally got fooled. Located on the opposite corner of Boiling Crab and needed a drink after dinner. It was within walking distance so we walked on down showed our ID to the asian guy in the front and walked into Wonderland. It was like walking into a bar at a truck stop in Wyoming with people singing Karaoke to songs i've never heard of, lots of big glasses of beers and shots of jack being passed around.

This place been open for a LONNNNG time... way before I was even produced in my dads balls... and probably when dad was still in his dads balls. I love old historical landmarks like this... well its history for me! Been here a few times... typical local dive. - If I remember correctly, on tap they have: Stella, Blue Moon, Hef, Bud Light, Budweiser maybe.... and thats all I remember. - They have 1 pool table and a jukebox which is rip off btw. They also have a really confortable sectional sofa... but something tells me I shouldnt be laying on it. Might contract some kind of rare STD. - They have karaoke on Fridays I believe... and alcohol might be a lil higher that night. - The bartender on weekend nights is hella cute personality wise too! I would definitly chill here with couple buddies again.

Dive Karaoke Bar next to Brodard. Dark couches. Christmas lights. Beer. Bad Singers. Good Singers. Mostly over 30. There are folders of songs, most of which I've never heard of. They have a folder of songs listed by artist and another listed by song title. I think one of the folders had pages missing. There was also a section of songs within the last year or so, but some of the songs chosen during the night were: "I Can Love You Like That", " Everlong", "Under the Bridge", "That's Life", "Keep Your Hands To Yourself" " Linger" "Time Of Your Life"" Let's stay together" " Angel" " When I'm gone" " Big Balls" ..... Write down the name of your song on a slip of white paper, and hand it in. You'll be placed on rotation with other singers, and the DJ will call your name to ask you if you want to sing anything else. The DJ is funny in a brash way, making fun of us, and chiding us if we ran away from the microphone. They also have a pool table and plenty of seating. There are very few Vietnamese people, if any in here! The crowd was friendly, and the bartender actually checked up on my friends to see if they wanted anything to drink. It was like a reverse culture shock to walk in here. Lots of fun!
