Rustic but nice! Accommodating staff! Great location to vineyards!

A very pleasant low key place to stay in a great little town. Such a pleasure not to have to spend a ridiculous amount of money to have a nice stay. Not fancy, but not some unappealing motel either. It was very pleasant and I look forward to returning.

Nice and decent accommodations near Sonoma and the Jack London State Park. Lot's to do nearby.

Bruce was amazing. We had a group of 9 staying on a work trip and he anticipated our needs 100%. The lodge is centrally located, within walking distance to wonderful restaurants and the lodge bar. Everything was very clean and comfortable. This is a great place to stay when visiting wine country!

Just stopped in because it was such a nice day & was out on a ride, but super surprised & happy to learn that Mickey's back, so will keep frequenting this place because of that!

Always a good time at the Saloon! Good people, great food and a bartender with chutzpah!

**Warning: the photos in these reviews do not represent all rooms. We stayed in a newly upgraded room and it was gorgeous!** The Jack London Lodge has the most comfortable bed I've ever slept in in my entire life. For real. I never want to leave. From the outside, this motel doesn't seem like much, but it's quaint. Inside, they rooms are beautifully updated. Did I mention the beds? And the pillows? I'd steal a pillow if I thought I could get away with it and my friend's credit card wouldn't get charge. The bathrooms are modern and luxurious. I love everything about the place. One star downgrade because we're in Sonoma, and there's no bottle opener or wine glasses in the room.

The word “lodge”in the name is misleading; this is a MOTEL with no common space to gather in other than the pool area. The website shows the 4 remodeled rooms but doesn’t reflect the 18 dated rooms out of the 1970’s. We were in room number 3. The rooms have no charm, they aren’t lodge feeling or reminiscent of a Jack London novel. The bed and chairs were very comfortable but the tops of the bedside tables were badly bubbled and the linoleum in the bathroom was burnt. The shower/tub was tiny. There was adequate air conditioning and heat and hot water. You could clearly hear the rooms upstairs. Housekeeping did a great job but overall attention to detail was not there; burnt out bedside light and entry light. The refrigerator was set to freeze and the ice bucket was too small for cooling a bottle of wine. It wasn’t a problem for us but the office has limited attendance which could make it hard to get support (or a spare key if you lock yours inside). The location is terrific, the price was reasonable but I’d have paid more for a remodeled room and there was plenty of parking.

This is a retro location! Kind of reminded us of motel during the 1950s. It was clean and the beds were comfortable. However, it could use a bit of updating. The location is the heart of the wine country. The creekside location is quiet and there are good restaurants for breakfast and dinner.

Great if you just want drinks. The food is not great except for the salads. Great drinks, wonderful bartender. Mostly locals on weekdays, can get lil tourist pack on the weekends.

After my grandkids have read some of London's writings, I plan to bring them here. At first I was fearful that I'd get depressed knowing he died so young at 40, but the museum and the grounds showed what a life he lived!!! It was all done so well :)

We stayed in August 2021. This was our second time and it did not disappoint. Very accommodating to their customers. Lovely clean and cute motel with a saloon which provided outside dining and music. Nice lively place. Look forward to our next stay. Also enjoyed the park close by.

This hotel is currently under remodeling but it was still okay. Salt water pool, proximity to the main restaurants and market makes it an ideal location for adventures. There wasn't any cable but we didn't really care because we were hardly in our room.

I stayed in a Superior King on the first floor for an overnighter as a quick getaway. The room was calm, clean, and decorated nicely on the upscale side. It looked like it had been remodeled recently. The bathroom was impressive. It had a tub and shower combo which included a handheld wand as well as a large showerhead with adjustable water spray. The bedding looked and smelled clean. The towel selection was surprising in a good way. There were bath towels but then there were also body towels long enough to wrap yourself in. A nice touch that I haven't seen in many places. Check-in was easy. I saw on another site that it said there was no check-in area but there is. However, there were a couple negatives. Being that the building is old, you can hear noise from above which wasn't bad during my stay because there weren't that many people there. I imagine it could get loud when busy or if the room above was occupied. My room was next to a storage room that the staff used. I could clearly hear when that door was opened and when things were being moved about. The other negative was that there was what appeared to be a used towel that wasn't removed. It was folded up on the towel pile but a little mussed which I though was suspicious. I picked it up, opened it, and there were spots on it and it looked like it had been used. Unfortunately I had wiped my hands on it before really looking closely, yuck. But as with all lodging, you should always look closely at the bedding and towels before using. I would stay here again if ever in the area, but only in one of the Superior rooms because I think those are the remodeled ones...and double-check my towels before using.
