The place is closed now so I guess karma got them. The server added a tip to my receipt when we had tipped in cash, manager limited her service to talk to accounting and request a refund?! I'm spending my time to let you know I've been robbed by your staff and didn't even get an explanation or apology. She didn't see the big picture it's the principle not the $20 he stole. Anyways they close, clearly bad practices.

We chose this place for a light lunch while visiting Glendale. My husband got the crispy rice tuna, I ordered a salmon and tuna roll and my daughter ordered a garlic shrimp appetizer. We also had the Brussel sprouts appetizer. My husband asked if they had a side of rice since my daughter's shrimp skewer only brought 3 little shrimp. My rolls were basically tuna and rice and salmon and rice only. If you wanted cucumber, avocado or anything else it was an upcharge. When the food finally came it was all very small portions. It tasted good but we were all still pretty hungry. We kept joking around about getting the bill and going to have lunch somewhere else. We were also blown away to see they charged over $6 for a teeny tiny bowl of white rice. Overall a disappointing experience. Would not return

Food was good, but the service was not great. We were told the wait time was 45 minutes. An hour later we went back to check on our table and were told it would be another 15 minutes. We went back after 20 more minutes to tell them to forget it and they said our table was ready. After getting our order taken the food took a very long time to come out to us (ended up eating a granola bar I had in my bag) when we did get the food, it was very good tho!

Food was delicious. The drinks were tasty. Took a while to receive our order but it was worth the wait.

Service people were hard working But and what I mean by but Is the way the restaurant and management was doing I'll start with a list of things I had a reservation for my wedding anniversary for family and a few friends And I chose this restaurant because of the atmosphere When we got our table I ordered drinks and they all come intermittently (which is kind of strange) and I'll start by saying that I am generally not a complainer and nag about everything to be perfect so we can't cheers for my anniversary Until drinks Were all brought to the table far apart from each other scotch was full of ice and a little color and not the Japanes scotch that I ordered because they didn't have it (again how strange in a Japanese restaurant!) so they served me some cheap scotch and that's fine again All 8 of us ordered our sushi and appetizers and all. But again we got the appetizers intermittently And guess what every plate that came to the table was 10 minuets apart and I understand the time and shortage of workers But when a party of 8 comes in and you charge 40 a plate of small sushi plate at least serve them all together It was over all a very embarrassing offering to my family and friends who were all hungry and didn't want to start eating to be rude The etiquette of serving is doing it properly or not accepting reservations for my guests We usually go to a restaurant for being served right and enjoy the atmosphere, To me The food is not usually the pinnacle point They knew how bad their system of serving was and gave us some 20% discount , which was not the point we were there to spend money and have a good time ,but I wasn't there to be embarrassed and feel guilty in front of my friends to have chosen a restaurant that should know better that the appetizers come first then all food comes together It's as simple as that The bathrooms looked like skid row We are at the Americana And this is not a fast food place Mc Donald bathrooms are cleaner than theirs This may sound like a nagging customer But if you want to experience the truth for yourself and not what I say in this review ,go ahead and waste your time and money and leave the place hungry snd frustrated as we did That's all

Disappointing. Standards dropped considerably. Fish not fresh. Ordered signature dishes like spicy tuna on crispy roll, yellowtail with jalapeños, miso cod, etc. All were fishy. No wonder you're closing permanently. Waitress tried her best and was positive.

The restaurant is closing down soon, and that showed clearly. Part of the menu not available, friendliness and efficiency lacking, beer prices high.

This place has definitely been affected by worker and supply shortage. Our service was slow and there were out of all the infused sakes and one of their cocktails. Our server was nice despite mistakes. I ended up with an extra bowl of crispy brussel sprouts so I'm not complaining. They have a surcharge to deal with the difficulties of COVID that is automatically applied, but you can ask for it to be taken off. I don't know how I feel about this. Does this go to staff? Because it better. Y'all get enough business in a prime location at Americana. When I think of Katsuya, I think of sushi. However, their selection isn't large and it's quite plain too. While I didn't taste it, my table did have it and it looked quite disappointing. The real stars are the appetizers and drinks. We ordered crispy brussel sprouts, edmame, and crispy and creamy shrimp. Their cocktail menu is quite unique and has something for everyone. For the main course, I had the short rib bop. It's based off a Korean dish that usually you throw your leftovers with rice and a mix of gochujang and sesame oil. Their rendition of it was rather plain with short rib, spinach, rice, and a sweet sauce with an upcharge for egg. The price of this is pretty decent so you definitely get what you paid for.

I am so sad this location is closing next week! I love Katsuya, and my mom and I have been coming to the Glendale location for years. Katsuya is located in the beautiful Americana shopping center. Seriously, the place looks like it's out of a dream. And Katsuya had a gorgeous view of the fountain and grass area (where they often play live music). I always get the crispy rice with spicy tuna to start. It comes with four pieces and it's so good. The spicy edamame has a super flavorful dressing- highly recommend. For my meal, I usually grab either the sushi or the sashimi sampler. It's the best bang for your buck, and the fish basically melts in your mouth. Must try! They validate parking for the Americana lot, or you can park for free in the Glendale Galleria lot!

I'm very saddened that this restaurant offered me a $200 credit and when I was ready to use it they went silent. I've emailed and I've had no response. I guess customer service here is bad in all levels here.

Could have been better. Especially with communicating with customers if orders will be late. Please be more attentive especially customers with kids.

Horrible. Don't go here. Waiter came to our table after 35 minutes of waiting to tell us they are closing in a week and they were out of most things. The restaurant was freezing and the sushi servings were very small. Worst $200 I've ever had.

I was a bit skeptical of Katsuya after reading some reviews but once I came in all of that flew out the door! I've been a regular customer at Katsuya for over 3 months now and I have a great experience every time. The food is always delicious and I always request a server there named Blake. He is so kind and always on top of it! He has definitely made my experiences even better at Katsuya along with all of the amazing staff! My favorite dish is the sashimi sampler, the fish is always so delicious and fresh. I also really love the pork ramen and crispy rice appetizers. I honestly don't think I've had a dish at Katsuya I didn't like. Thank you to Blake for being such a great server! Also shoutout to one the amazing managers Jasmine who also always is extremely helpful and kind!
