Had the California burrito and chips and salsa. Ordering was at the bar and someone brings out your food. Everything was delicious only downside was it was chilly outside and "inside" all the doors were open so it was equally chilly inside.

I had the al pastor street tacos and added the beans and rice ($15.95), pretty good! They came with 3 tacos and surprisingly I was full from them. The meat was pretty packed. Along with a Mango margarita that was pretty good, the size of the drink is smaller than usual, so that alright. There are lots of seating for small groups to large group, and a back patio with a fire pit. I would come again as a place to eat when in the area!

Terrible system to begin with. Standing in line, out the door, to order food and drinks. Slow service. Drinks are expensive and small. Wanted another drink but would have to stand in line again. Hire a wait staff! No thanks. Will not return.

This review is for the Event Coordinator, Paige. I visited several locations along the Peninsula looking for a place to host an event. San Benito House is a charming location with a few options on the property to gather. After meeting with their event coordinator Paige, my choice was made. Paige was a delight to work with. She was very responsive to all my questions and offered solutions to any concerns. The prices for event space and menu selection are reasonable. I was worried about being outdoors on the coast in winter. Paige went above and beyond trying to make accommodations while understanding my budget. Invitations went out, hotel rooms were booked (not onsite) and RSVP's were in. Unfortunately, Mother Nature had other plans and due to a severe weather alert the day of the party, I had to cancel my event.

The perfect blend of spice in the Bloody Mary's pairs perfectly with the fish tacos. Service is friendly, the deck on a sunny day is my choice.

We tried the Chicken Street Tacos, chicken tenders & fries, Impossible Burger with Cesar Salad, Vegetable Empanadas with Southwestern Salad, and Key Lime Pie. I recommend the Empanadas and the Key Lime Pie. The Street Tacos were good - I've had better. The margaritas were just okay. I prefer traditional salt and a smaller ice cube. The service was good. Staff and the locals were friendly. Order at the bar but they will bring you your food, check on you, and clear your plates. I enjoyed the outdoor seating especially near the fire pit. The yard area was great for the kids to run around making it very family friendly.

The outdoor seating around a real wood burning fireplace provided great ambiance. There is a large grassy area at the rear of the restaurant for kids to play, which mine took full advantage of. Our food was perfect and a couple pints to wash it down. A very relaxing atmosphere which made it very easy to stay and enjoy our vacation moment.

Delicious Mexican restaurant, with a huge amount of space, and a great local bar. Cantina is a great for families, kids, couples, and singles. A space for everyone. Packed and fun on sunny afternoons. It has a giant outdoor patio seating area, a grass lawn with lawn chairs and an outdoor stage, inside restaurant area, a pub room with bar stools and bar tables. I was in there on a rainy evening so most people were up front in the bar area. I grabbed some carne asada tacos and a local Half Moon beer, really tasty. I didn't stay at the hotel, I'll need to update if I stay at San Benito House hotel.Nearby activities: All the shops are on the block here. Short drive to the beach areas.Safety: Very safe. Half Moon Bay in general is probably the safest area in the whole Bay Area.Walkability: Right in the middle of Main St in Half Moon Bay. Very walkable to all the shops and restaurants in the downtown area.Food & drinks: Great Mexican food and bar tenders.Noteworthy details: Great spaces for everyone: families, kids, couples, and singles.
