HMB's best kept secret! Cute place! Fast, polite service! Generous portions! The food is delicious with a variety of options!

Food was ultra basic, margaritas were too darn sweet. Will never go there again. Walked away from food and drinks without touching it much and paid for it.

This burrito is absolutely atrocious, The cheese is on the burrito not in the burrito and you can't even eat it cuz it was folded incorrectly. I'm very disappointed with this burrito. Completely unhappy, there's no avocado? $21 dollars and this is what you get. Forget it I am never returning.

Great food and fast service with prices that are inexpensive. My gf and I will be back to this restaurant.

came here with a couple friends- so a party of 4. It was a Friday night but the place was pretty empty. We were given a basket of chips and 2 small salsas- the chips were nice and warm, and we went through them quickly. - it took quite awhile to get our drink order taken and we asked for some more chips. Drinks came, no chips. finally got our food order in - again asked for chips. Food came, we asked one last time for a few more chips... that still never came. I got the 2 item combo- chicken tamale and chicken enchilada. the tamale was cold and very thick masa. they brought the bill with 4 mints- we reached out and 3 of us got a mint- while we asked about dessert. 2 of us ordered flan. waitress swooped the bill and the last mint away. Flans came- one was nice and tall- the other one looked like it melted. we both love flan and both agreed this was not good- I wouldn't have called it flan. To me, flan is creamy with a caramelized sugar syrup that colors and flavors the top (or bottom). this had no sugar syrup- the top was dried out and it was very firm- not creamy at all. when the bill came back, no mint for our friend who missed his the first go around. My husband really liked his steak, and the margaritas were good- regular ones came on the rocks. I wouldn't recommend the flan for sure.

The decor is very 80's Tijuana flea market style, the food and service was good. Had a pork taco and beef enchilada

All of the food had a slight taste like a freezer and was a bit bland. Had the beef enchilada. Good atmosphere though.

As close as you will get to Southern California Mexican food, Machaca Plate is my favorite off menu

this is an old school Mexican restaurant of the exact type my parents used to take us to in the 70s. the food is amazing and hearty af, the service is friendly without being overbearing, and the ambiance is...it's obviously an old house that got turned into a restaurant and i have no idea how they make such great food in such a small space but they do it, and they do it well.

Kid-friendliness: We tend to go at 5:30 PM midweek period is usually before the maimarush. They are always friendly with my children, bringing lots of chips and salsa and filling their water bottles as needed.Wheelchair accessibility: Once you get in the front door there are a few tables with the main dining room is up to stairs. I do not know If there is another wheelchair accessible entrance into the main dining room. The only restroom is up the two stairs

Favorite Mexican food restaurant around. Super fair prices and delicious food. The chimichonga plate is my favorite, perfect amount of food for like 12 bucks. Half moon bay has many choices but they are the best!

This is by far the worst Mexican restaurant I've ever experienced in my life. The tortillas are store bought, the margaritas had 0% alcohol: when I asked if they had frozen margs I was told "we can do frozen" and it was basically a blended margaritas on the rocks. We went through our tortilla chips quickly while waiting and they were refilled 0 times, along with the salsa in bowls that couldn't fit one chip also refilled 0 times. The server continuously told us to get less food than we were ordering (5 people in party) and it ended up not being enough food of course. My full order of beef fajitas easily fit in 1 (one) tortilla. The "chili con queso" was obviously melted shredded cheese in a tiny bowl. I cannot fathom how this establishment has 200+ reviews at over a 1 star let alone 3.8. Do not come here if you want to have a somewhat decent average night because every facet of the experience is below average, emphasis on the food.

My friend heard about the restaurant while we were driving on the radio. We were on our way to the airport and was going to another restaurant l, but decided to go here. So glad we did. We ordered guacamole & chips, chicken tacos, mango margaritas, & chile relleno. The staff was very kind and the inside was decorated nice. They have seating outside also but we sat inside. We truly enjoyed this restaurant.
