Probably some of the best food in Hayward, the service is amazing, the service is professional and the drink ? are delicious.I would call the restaurant a hole in the wall but, the place is bigger than it looks. Offers great ambience with its unique layout. The Clam Chowder is one of the best in East Bay hands down. This is a must try spot worth the drive, you won't regret it.

Traditional authentic Italian dishes served by attentive staff. My second time here for dinner. Portions are good. Prices are decent. Service is excellent. Ask to be seated in the room with the murals that depict dining al fresco. The Veal Saltimbocca with their creamy polenta was absolute heaven!! My GF had the Calamari Piccata, which was equally delicious.Just talking about it makes me want to go back tomorrow!! ?

Don't be fooled by the small entrance, the restaurant opens up into a spacious interior with multiple dining areas. I requested to be seated in the upper tier, where the walls were painted with charming murals depicting an Italian street scene with different shops.Gnocchi della Casa (5/5): The gnocchi was pillowy soft and coated in a delicious creamy tomato sauce. Highly recommend.Pesto Fettuccine (3/5): The pesto sauce tasted fresh but was under seasoned and the chicken was quite dry.Complimentary Bread: They give two types of bread. I really enjoyed the herb focaccia.

I've been to this restaurant three times and would come more except it's about 40 minutes on the other side of the Bay from where I live, but I love the place. It's always delicious, a lovely environment and the service is excellent.

Very busy on a Saturday night but everything moved along well. The Acqua is a good place to go for traditional Italian food that's well prepared and the prices were very reasonable, not piracy like so many other restaurants these days.

First time eating here - very nice anniversary dinner. It was pretty busy, but the noise levels weren't high. We had a reservation and were seated promptly. Service was a bit slow, but when he did come to the table he was very friendly and helpful. Food was really good. Started with the calamari (tentacles were a bit chewy but everything else was good). Husband had the gnocchi which was amazingly soft and tasty - really nice sauce (and a huge portion). I had the chicken piccata - was a little salty, but still very tasty. The polenta was amazing. Not sure what the veggie was the was served with it to be honest.... wasn't horrible, but not my style (onions? cabbage? saurekraut? honestly had no idea!). We shared the tiramisu for dessert. A bit sweet for my taste (and I like sweet things), but a big slice, so it was perfect to share. We'll definitely be back.

Well our V-Day party didn't begin so well. The lobby was mobbed, people were out on the street in the driving train, and the mood was not good. This is a fine restaurant but they keep hiring host staff that is more than unwelcoming, the guy who works the front desk is down right rude. He has a demeanor more suited to behind the scenes operations, and not dealing with the public. Not only did he not welcome us or any of the diners who came after use, he simply said that we would have to wait in spite of having a reservation. In fact, he said that he didn't know how long the wait would be and that there were others ahead of us who were also waiting. After waiting 30 minutes we were finally seated. After that disappointing start, everything else was as delightful as this bistro is known for. Our table ordered the crab cakes, salmone ala griglia, and the capellini. It was all excellent. I indulged in a Manhattan before dinner arrived, and it was exceptional. Our waitperson was lively, welcoming, and attentive. All in all, it was a nice evening out, except for the front desk.

The gnocchi and pollo parmigiana was astounding and the crème brûlée was delightful. The server was also very kind and quick. The noise wasn't too loud and the lighting was romantic. Would recommend to bring a date or loved ones to this restaurant.

The food was good, not great for the price. Crab cakes were over crusted in breadcrumbs but served attractively. Lamb loin was actually lamb chops. Nice sauce with mushrooms. My guest said the linguine and clams were tasty. He had ice tea and I had water. For lunch the bill was just shy of $100. Wait staff were very friendly and attentive. The restaurant was moderately full for a Valentine's Day lunch, mostly middle aged persons. The most irritating part of the meal was the very loud music. It made having a business conversation more challenging. Would recommend for family style Italian food. Very traditional.
