Business is closed. It is being replaced by Habibi's Birria. It was one of the best Greek restaurant in the East Bay. Not sure if they moved but Hayward just lost a gem.

Super tasty and fresh food! Just got the Spartan with chicken only (spicy one) and it was excellent. Cant wait to try more stuff here, this is super close to work for me as well. The staff is extremely friendly and the place looks very clean. If you're craving a wrap or a salad or just a healthy lunch in general I would say definitely check this place out.

The food is always great here, the place is clean! Parking is limited so I park across the street most of the time. The food more than makes up for parking.

When I was younger we had family friends that did not mess around with their Greek heritage and more importantly, their food! One of my favorite times of the year was Greek Easter because I knew tasty grub was on its way! I don't get Greek food often as much now, but when I do it's held to that immeasurable, nostalgic bar, defined in my childhood. I haven't been taken back to that place in my food memory in a long time, but WOW, Athineon, might have just helped me out! I got a Gyro with (no tomatoes) jalapenos, grilled onions, and tzatziki. The pita was warm and fluffy, the meat was spiced perfectly, and the sauce was that nice, light, refreshing taste to pair with all those other spices. Gonna have to grab some baklava next time. Don't sleep on these guys! Cravin' some Greek out in the Hayward area? Stop by!

The wife and I stopped here for lunch yesterday. My first time (not hers). She's been telling me about this place for awhile. She had the Lemon Oregano Cbicken, I had the Athineon plate. Everything tasted great, well seasoned. Glad I made it in and I'll definitely be coming back.

My friend and I were in Hayward area for an appointment today, and we both like Greek food. I looked on line for a good place for us to have lunch, and found the Athineon. It was a bit of a mystery to find, but with my trusty Google maps app, we got there fine. We both had regular Gyros, and we were both so impressed with the quality of what we had ordered. It was without a doubt the best gyros either one of us had had in a very long time. The couple who are the owners are authentic Greeks from Greece, and are so hospitable and gracious. We would highly recommend this nice little place for authentic Greek food, if you are anywhere near Hayward or on your way across the San MateoGyro Wrap

Best gyro I've had in years. 10/10. The meat is so perfect. I used to get my fix from Nick the greek but the meat here is on another level so I will stick to coming here. Unfortunate that they close so early in the day (2:30) but I will still come here when I can.

We got the cod fish, lemon oregano chicken, and and the athineon plate. The lemon oregano chicken and cod were both delicious (I didn't try the athineon plate, so I can't say anything about it). My father and I both got a cup of coffee which tasted good and were pretty strong.

Awesome food and one of the best frappes I've ever had. The owner is super nice, he came to our table and made sure everything was good. I took one bite and couldn't stop eating. So I forgot to take pictures of the food. But my mom and I shared a Mykonos plate, and another sampler like plate that the lady recommended. It was so good. A mix of gyro with peppers, souvlaki, salad, and rice. It was perfect. Usually we have leftovers but we ate pretty much everything. Everything tasted fresh and authentic. I wished we discovered this place sooner! I already know what I want to try next.

I lucked into this restaurant while looking for another. Got the veggie special with no dairy which was fresh, well prepared and delicious. I deducted a star because I thought I should have got three falafel, instead of two and they were stingy with the hummus. Overall nice clean friendly place. So glad I stumbled in.
