Great Thai in the East bay! I have a go-to delivery Thai place closer to my house but I wanted to give a new place a try. Chai Thai has a great menu, from appetizers to curries to noddles. I ordered Pad Thai with pork, side of fried eggs and an order or chive cakes (gui chai). The food arrived ready to eat and all was delicious. The Pad Thai had great flavor. I love when you get a nice portion of each of the ingredients; meat to tofu to eggs to green onion to sprouts. Each bite had everything. Can't wait to order again from Chai Thai!

If I were to describe this place in one word, it would be AMAZING. After a few bites of our food, my boyfriend and I agreed we'd have to come here again. The restaurant is along a main road in Hayward, but be sure to note that there is no actual parking lot. There's street parking and parking along the residential areas. This is quite a modern Thai place and all of the employees here were really nice! We ordered the tom yum goong, spicy crab noodles, calamari, and a Thai iced coffee. The Thai iced coffee tasted like Vietnamese coffee, but maybe not as strong. It was good, and the perfect pick-me-up. The calamari was crunchy and paired with a sweet and sour sauce. Tom yum is always a staple when we get Thai food, so this did not disappoint. The tom yum had green onion, red onion, tomato, shrimp, and mushrooms. The only thing I'd mention is that I wish there was a bit more seafood, but the flavor was so good. The spicy crab noodles were sooo good. I really loved the flavor of these, and although they had a kick, I just couldn't stop filling my plate with more. We ordered both the tom yum and spicy crab noodles at the spice level right before Thai spicy (which we were warned would have been EXTREMELY spicy). If you're a spice lover and think you can handle more, you can order extra Thai spice on the side! The price point is similar to most other Thai restaurants we've been to. For all three food items and the coffee, we paid about $67 before tip. Overall, we had a really great experience here and already thinking of the next time to drop by...

What a wonderful find! I'm not from Hayward, but I found this cool hole in the wall because I exited the freeway to avoid a traffic jam. You locals - I'm jealous you have this jem of Thai cuisine. Check out their daily specials. I came in on "Wine Wednesday". Seating at the bar is cozy. Charming establishment!

I love both locations (at least the ones I'm aware of-Oakland and Hayward). I always love the ambiance and the food is yummy!

Today I will have to give 4.5 but I can't give 5 since our waitress wasn't attentive. Possible due to overwhelming customers. Try a few new dishes: nam kao salad, deep fried chicken salad, pla rad prik, stir fried seafood and rose green tea. My all timer fav dish: pad Thai and papaya salad. With all these dishes, total came up to $127 included tax. Not bad for post pandemic. The quantity of each dish seems to be more than before which I appreciated. Worth the price. Hope every visit will be like this going forward as fast as as the food flavor. I have to say that I won't order deep fried chicken salad anymore. It was dissatisfied dish. Everything else was awesome. I took plenty of pics to share. Lets them guide you.

Decent thai place in the area. We love coming here with friends and family to chat and order all the dishes ~ This time we did take out and got the chiang mai noodles, mango thai tea and pad see ew with beef. The chciang mai continues to be the star and the pad see ew is appetizing. The drinks are decent.

Ordered takeout pumpkin curry with chicken. Picture of the container next to a shot glass, and the container was not filled to the top, so much space. Curry flavor is light and tastes watery.

I find this to be the best Thai food in Hayward. We used to go to another place downtown but now find ourselves at Chai Thai most often for takeout and dining in with friends. They have a tiny space inside but it's never too packed when we've went (I've only experienced it being busy once for dinner). The noodle dishes (drunken noodle) are really tasty and flavorful. We usually get that w/beef. The only downside is the parking; it's pretty abysmal if you can't find one in front (may get stuck parking across the busy street or down the road). Definitely recommend. They also have a small bar w/TVs for sports, which is also a nice touch (I know there's a happy hour special too).

Beef ball noodle soup wasn't that good. The flavor wasn't there. I felt like it was just pho but blander. Pad see ew was ok, I had better.

Placed an order with a side of vinegar jalapeños. I was eating the jalapeños with my noodles, and at first I thought I tasted a soapy taste, and then I bit into the jalapeño directly it straight up, tasted like Fabuloso floor cleaner! I'm not sure what happened, but this batch of peppers was extremely contaminated and this is so dangerous and should be reported to the health department. I was feeding this cleaning product contaminated food to my children!!! This is absolutely unacceptable.

Had a very good lunch at Chai Thai with my son, he loved the Roti (yellow curry) and the wings, and I had the Chai Thai noodles and wow - they were awesome! Fast service, clean bathroom and a casual/laid back ambiance. The Chai Thai noodles are up there with some of the best Thai dishes I've had so I'll be back for sure.

Chai Thai is AMAZING! Their food is always fresh and hot and the staff is so friendly. I highly recommend the curry roti dip, gang panang, larb and drunken noodles and fresh rolls. Can't go wrong with any of these! The restaurant itself is clean, inviting and cozy. Can't wait for my next visit there!
