I don't understand why the sauce is considered world famous when it tastes like any other Katsu sauce, but every plate I have gotten here has been solid for the price.

Absolutely horrible place. I walked in the door and wanted a salad and I couldn’t see the menu up on the wall, so I asked for a menu and they said they didn’t have any.The cashier walked away and came back with a menu and I asked out of the three salads what was in the first one what was in the second one and what was in the third one because they were all different so I could select one. He didn’t even know what was in the salads and he kept pointing to the menu above me that I couldn’t see so I said never mind. He wasn’t friendly at all he wasn’t helpful at all he stood there like he was annoyed and bothered by my questions when I’m trying to order some thing that I’m going to enjoy.I will never ever go there and I will tell everyone how rude unprofessional and disrespectful it is to not try to help a customer who is buying some thing where you work or maybe you’re the owner you should be ashamed of yourself if you are

Another restaurant skimpnig on their quantities. I've been going to this place for years but no more. It's simply not even close to worth the price anymore. Just look at how thin they are cutting the chicken portions. Basically 13$ now for two scoops of rice, 1 of noodle salad and chicken sliced lunch meat thin. It's laughable.

Got food and spend closed to $44.00 and the chicken was not cooked and the shrimp tested raw. I will never go again.

On a Monday evening, I was driving thru Hayward and found myself at Gateway Plaza near Jackson St & Santa Clara St. It was near 9pm, so I thought I'd drive in and see what's still open. Guess what's open until 9:30pm? Ohana Hawaiian BBQ at Gateway Plaza! Usually I expect to get served old food just before closing, but not tonight. I actually had a decent meal, not a great meal......but it was okay. First, I walked in and no one was working at the front counter. There was a guy in the grill frantically cooking food. He looked up a few times while I waited along with some food delivery drivers. Then after 5-minutes, someone came out of the restroom, washed his hands, and took my order. I ordered the "BBQ Mix Combo" for $12.95. He said it'll take 10-mins. The BBQ Mix Combo is BBQ Short Ribs, BBQ Boneless Chicken, 2 scoops of white rice, and a scoop of macaroni salad. Utensils and napkins. (In-Store Price: $12.95 + tax) How was the food? The meat was excellent. The BBQ short ribs and chicken were hot, fresh and tasty. Juicy and tender meat, easy to eat. I'm guessing they had to cook a lot of food to fill delivery orders, and my short ribs and chicken came from that batch. Easy 5-stars! Large serving of meat. The white rice wasn't hot and fluffy. It was just rice. Grade: (3/5). The Macaroni Salad was terrible! It tasted like macaroni and mayonnaise. No other seasonings, just a glop of macaroni and mayo. Grade: (1/5). There's three parts to the meal, and they're not all made with same level of care and attention to quality. Would I come back? No thank you!

They're ok. The food was alright. The service was tired and non engaging. The restaurant just opened but the vibe was so down. Chairs were still on a couple tables and stayed that way even after we left. (Abt 30 mins). The food and vibe could have just been btr. A lil disappointing .
