I tried Paya Thai for the first time yesterday. The green curry was phenomenal! The place didn't look aesthetically pleasing but I guess everyone gets take out anyway due to the pandemic. The employee working was nice and followed covid-19 regulations. She used hand sanitizer before and after handing me the bill to sign.I will definitely be going again! (At least for takeout) I enjoyed the meal a ton.
I have been loyal to the sweet little lady -- who works as the hostess, waitress, and cook -- since I've been living in Hayward. She is so nice and fast! I've seen other reviews about the place not looking very clean, but those are the types of places that have great authentic food. It breaks my heart that they will be closing in 2-3 weeks after being at the same location for over 30 years. Their food is excellent. But another loss in the restaurant industry due to covid times. The owner is so nice, so soft spoken. Sucks to lose a Thai restaurant when there aren't many Thai options in the area to begin with.
