Unfortunately, I called to get take-out from this location and the recorded message said they have permanently closed. I will miss having good soul food in the city of Lakewood.

Great food. Very professional. Southern food at its best. Order the mac and cheese!!!!

Friendly staff, delicious food! I especially love their baked goods (sweet potato pie, cornbread muffins, etc). Highly recommend!

Always great food and service. I make it a habit to eat breakfast there when in the area.

I love this small but mighty breakfast spot. The fried fish, grits and scrambled eggs are to die for.

Friendly staff but nowhere to really sit and eat. Chicken and waffles were great.

This time I was not too pleased with my meal it was bland didn't have any flavour or seasoning and my chicken had too many feathers on it. Only thing that was good was my grits

I'm from Georgia and my wife is from Texas so we know a thing or two about southern cooking and this place has some of the best food good portions and absolutely delicious.

I'm from the ATL born and raised so good southern food is limited especially in Long Beach. I see some of the reviews and I get it for sure. I don't usually do a review after eating somewhere just once but this review is based on just what my family and I ordered. I ordered the fried catfish with black eyed peas and Mac and cheese. My son ordered the 3 large fried chicken wings with mac and cheese with candied yams. Wife had fried red snapper with greens and Mac and cheese. I'm not a fan of the greens simply because they have cabbage in them but not terrible. Mac and cheese was amazing and probably their best side dish. Candied yams on point. The catfish was the best I've had in a while maybe up their with the catfish from Fishbone Grill in Compton. The wings and the snapper were awesome too but the cornbread muffin is average. I haven't tried the desserts yet but I'm super critical of sweet potato pie in general but did order some to try. I didn't dine in obviously since this was a Postmates order and it didn't take long at all since I live near by. I would order again for sure.
