FIRST TIME: Finally Good Soul Food in the AV. The take-out side portions are small for the price you pay for the dinners, maybe they are larger if you choose to dine-in. I agree with other ratings the Pork Chops are a Lil Salty. That will not deter me at all, I will try them smoothed next time. I really hope and pray they succeed and make the necessary adjustments to improve flawless service and taste. I plan to keep them in my Dinner rotation.(2nd Time) All I can say is if they don't make it, it is their fault. The taste of the food is inconsistent, that is probably the reason for the mixed reviews. (depends on the day) Wasn't even close to being as good as the first time and I will leave it at that.**??

My husband and I were excited to try this place, it’s hard to find good soul food that you don’t have cook yourself. We got the red snapper and shrimp plate. It lacked flavor and was fried way too hard. And the red snapper hardly had any meat and the shrimp was small… we ended up paying $65. For the banana pudding, which was horrible. It tasted straight out the box and layered with bananas and wafers. The peach cobbler and corn were palatable, but for what it cost, we definitely won’t be going back. We had high hopes and were let down, considering the staff is sweet and personable. Cook every dish the way you’d want to eat it!

Very disappointing. I ordered the beef ribs and they were mostly full of bone. The gravy tasted like what would have came out of a can. The greens were not that great either. The Mac and cheese was ok. Couldn’t believe they gave me garlic bread because they were out of cornbread. I was hoping to have found a place that I can frequent. I’m always willing to give a place the benefit of the doubt but too many things were off. Hopefully they will pull it together.

Hello all , I am very happy to be posting another review, I personally am not here to write the best one but I will say the customer service was very nice and I appreciate the help they gave me. I will say the food was good but I am picky about how my wings were assembled, I'm use to no breading on my wings so the breading with sauce on it wasn't the best tasting in my opinion. The fries were okay not much you can do with them but I would order them again. The shrimp was really good ! To me it was my personal favorite ! Mac n cheese was lacking so much flavor I was disappointed with that, I feel like it didn't have any seasoning and it was dry. The cabbage shook me the most... I have tasted better cabbage. It gave off this sweet taste and I don't like my cabbage sweet very much. It was okay minus the sweetness I was tasting. NOW THEM GREENS WERE MY FAVORITE !!!! They were packed with juicy flavor and the neck bones they used were giving it the most flavor ! I would come back for that ! They have many things on their menu I would definitely be back to try but for now I would only recommend the greens. I will be back to try some of their other menu items

We walked in and the place smelled like a cinnamon baking factory. The family was gathered for what seemed to be a private party, but they welcomed us warmly and genuine, excellent service. The owner gave my three yr old some of their homemade lemonade, sweet and tangy and ice cold. I ordered a slice of the sweet potato pie. The owner said some fresh ones were coming out of the oven shortly. I can't imagine how amazing the fresh from the oven pies were because the refrigerated slice melted on the tongue, 10x better than any pumpkin pie I've ever tried. We also split a serving of the banana pudding. So good, we almost turned around to get another serving after leaving. We didn't get to try any of the entrees, but if they're even half as good as the desserts... bussin' bussin' Muff Diddy's is the type of restaurant you go to once a week for 20 years and you're never disappointed. Very good people, service and food! Stop eating whatever you're having tonight and go see Mama!

Let me start by saying I'm going to try this restaurant again. Just to be fair and because I want it to succeed . I'm also going to post an honest review. The customer service was excellent!! There were a lot of employees in and out of the kitchen which gave me an uneasy feeling. Due to Covid and sanitation reasons. Especially since the restaurant had only two customers and a few pick/takeout orders. The pork chops very thin with no flavor. The greens had more stems then leaves, I was wasn't too pleased with the flavor or lack of. The cabbage was very mushy and had a funny taste. The yams were good. I feel the portion sizes were small for the price. I do feel this business has big potential. The Antelope Valley definitely needed a soul food restaurant. Good luck to this family owned business.

The staff is very friendly and attentive! We were immediately welcomed and treated like family. On our first visit (2 weeks ago), we tried the oxtails and the catfish with cabbage and greens and mac n chz. Everything was perfectly prepared and the service was excellent! I love the way they season the cornmeal on the catfish and the oxtails literally fall apart! Today, they had a ton of take-out orders... it took a little longer to get our lunch but it was well worth waiting for!! We had amazing fried chicken, better than any I've ever gotten in the AV! The service was great and watching the staff interact with the take-out customers was fun. They really do treat everybody equally, wonderfully welcoming!

Real down home Southern food at good prices. Located in a strip mall next to a pharmacy with plenty of parking nearby.

The best part about this place is the customer service, definitely top tier compared to some of these other black owned businesses! Food was a 6/10 flavor was good but the pork chops were cold & a lil salty but I won’t let that steer me away. This place is def worth trying again just off the service along. I’ll be back!

Absolutely BOMB! Today was my first time visiting. I was approached by a young beauty, she was kind and greeted me with a smile as I walked in the door. Although I was only ordering to take home, the owner made me feel like I was visiting her home. I received a lot of love the entire time there. Tasha was AMAZING! She was patient as I order and please know I order 4 dinners lol. Everything was yummy, I order the fried chicken dinner with mashed, and cabbage, the fish dinner with shrimp mac and cheese, and yams, the roast dinner with greens, and yams, the oxtail dinner with green beans and mac and cheese, and banana pudding; with 3 kool-aid...again everything was amazingly tasteful. I am spreading the word and I will be back,

We enjoyed our lunch. The food was great and plentiful. The atmosphere is wonderful and the staff is very friendly. They all greeted us when we came in and came to the table and talked and laughed with us.

In the past two days I’ve had the Oxtail dinner, Gumbo Dinner and Red Snapper and shrimp plate. EVERYTHING WAS EXCEPTIONALLY DELICIOUS❣️❣️ The staff Tasha, Ty, and others were All friendly, efficient and positive. The restaurant is clean, spacious and comfortable. Owner & Chef’ Ron and chef Adrian were very nice and friendly. I enjoyed everything. My only requests, watch the salt on the greens and green beans. Consider offering two corn muffins (especially since your price point is equal to fine dining soul food restaurants in the LA area) and two muffins is Always customary. The yams are DELICIOUS (and I’m a yam connoisseur)❣️You WILL be seeing me and my husband as regulars. I have already been spreading the news to my friends. The Best restaurant (especially if you Love Soul food) in the AV Hands Down❣️⚡️BOLT UP⚡️?

The food is delicious but, they were out of a dew things. The Owner tries hard to be accommodating.

Norma, looks like (Gladys Knight)kind of!

Today is Sunday, I had the Cat Fish Dinner with cabbage white rice with HOMEMADE gravey, corn bread and a side of shrimp Mac & cheese. My food was really really good and I will be back again. Many thanks to the chef who made my gravey. Norma???
