I've been going there since 2000...lunch and dinner for my Sons! Pick-up other items for picnic basket for outdoor jazz, blues concerts in the park! Love this place!
Always a delicious experience, whether you are ordering a sandwich or lunch special or buying some deli items out of the case - like an antipasta salad. YUM! It gets busy during lunch time, but the line moves quickly. Try the meatball sandwich.

Got a meatball sandwich, medium pasta side from the deli, bag of chips (no drink) $38 ?. Food is good though ?. It's getting to expensive to eat out.

The pastrami and chicken parmigiana (special once a week) are my go to sandwiches from this local shop. Been here too many times to count. Excellent customer service and menu options.

Santa fe importers is truly an Italian food importer with a large building that is closed to the public. They have a parking lot for about 10 or 12 cars.Next door is their retail food market with prepared foot that they sell, both hot subs pizza meals etc plus cold subs. Naturally the food is super fresh. Of course santa fe importers sells just about anything and everything that's Italian food and drink.You can park on the street if the lot is full. There's a counter by the front you can sit at but most people do takeout. I lived the cold subs the 3 times I was there. The hot meatball sob was disappointing. It could have been toasted with more sauce and more meatballs. The actual meatballs are just okay. Don't think I want to try their pizza and other hot food. I will stick to the cold cut sandwiches.This is a rough industrial neighborhood and they close early.

Perhaps the best pastrami sandwich I've ever had. Would recommend you get a bottle of their horseradish sauce (at front register) to go with it since they don't have that as a condiment offering. Would drive back to Long Beach just for this sandwich. That good.
