It is with a heavy heart that I write this review about Boon Docks Cocktails, a place that used to hold a special spot in my heart. On my recent visit, I was reminded of the saying, "You can't judge a book by its cover." The evening started off on a positive note, with the servers providing exceptional service and the drinks living up to their reputation of being stiff and well-crafted. However, it was impossible to ignore the glaring issue that overshadowed the entire experience. As I looked up, my eyes were met with the sight of black mold creeping along the ceiling. The musty smell that accompanied it was a stark reminder of neglect and disregard for basic hygiene. It was evident that attempts had been made to mask the odor, but the combination of cleaning agents and whatever else was used only added to the unpleasantness. As much as I wanted to overlook these glaring issues, I couldn't bring myself to ignore them. It's a shame because Boon Docks Cocktails used to be one of my favorite places to unwind and enjoy a good drink. However, the presence of black mold and the overpowering smell have made it a place I can no longer frequent. It's my hope that management takes swift action to address these concerns. With the right attention to cleanliness and maintenance, Boon Docks Cocktails could once again become a beloved spot for many. Until then, it's a place I sadly cannot recommend or revisit.

Tawdry little dive bar. Place to go to get away from reality. Took my coworker there, got a little crazy, left with a great memory. Racism? Not. Food, only had the food once, carnitas and the barbacoa, great, and cheap. Don't knock it if you haven't tried it. Be happy you can go somewhere with a friend, or whatever, and enjoy the friend along with some great food, drink, music. And a happy staff that treats you with dignity, not a mark. Tip them good, they deserve it and they will remember.

It's a great lil neighborhood dive bar. Stiff drinks, friendly locals, and baudy bartenders. Pool tables are .50 cents American.Kid-friendliness: It's a BAR. Keep your kids out ?

I LOVE this place, and everyone who works and goes there! I always feel like I'm at home with family! I live in Northridge and come down to Seal Beach every weekend to help my dad who's suffering with dementia, then I hang out here and freel! ?

Not my cup of tea... A lil too racist. I've gone a few times and was carded even though I brought white friends my age and they did not get carded. On top of that, if I paid with a debit card they would again ask for my ID enough though I literally saw them take other people's cards who AGAIN were my age not being asked for their ID. HIGHLY disappointed... As I live in the area and don't have a problem with anyone.

Noticed it's been a long time since I reviewed and it's a bit unfortunate that I can't say anything has changed. I'm a big pool player, so it is nice to see that the pool tables are still well kept, but that's about the only upside in my eyes. The floor is still in bad condition, furniture is in decent shape. Dark atmosphere when you're there at night as they don't have much interior lighting in the very small bar. For some reason they got rid of the divider in the mens bathroom so it's essentially become a 1 person bathroom which still has a bad smell and the door lock doesn't work. The condition of the bathroom altogether is just horrific, it's so run down it's very disappointing. The staff and customers are almost always kind and fun to be around even if you're strangers, but I'd really wish ownership would do something about improving the bathrooms at the very least.

Just a great place. If you ever wanna feel like you're home or apart of the family come to Boondocks. The staff here really make it a place you wanna come to. Bartenders genuinely care and they are amazing. Lorraine, Mary Ann, Lucas, Kaitlyn, Max, Sandy, and Sarah! Just love coming here to get treated like family! Go support some local business!

If you want your head to spin by an experience that you can't get anywhere else Boon Docks is for you. The service carrie's it's own cadence and tempo as well as the individuals that frequent. It would be accurate to assume there's something in the walls of this establishment that keeps people locked into there seat with hollow slack jawed stares enamored with the conversation that has the possibility of going any direction. If you're interested in anthropology, psychology, or mixology for that matter go ahead and try Boon Docks.

Great drinks, good people, and awesome tacos on Friday's! I had 2 barbacoa tacos and 2 carnitas tacos and I finished the night off with 2 cheesy mulitas.

I've giving this place 5 stars because if you're Loki g for a dive bar, there are only a few basic things you need covered. Cheap drink, plenty of bar space at counter, pool table and internet jukebox. This place has all of these so no complaints. Its a locals kind of vibe here and very blue collar so feels down to earth. It's clean enough and when I've been there and Katelin has been working, she has been friendly and attentive. Beer selection is a little limited but again, it's a dive bar so you have to have realistic expectations.
