This review is way too late, and I'm going to miss this place. I was a regular here since it opened in the 90's. I grew up in Los Alamitos and this place was in my top 3 favorite restaurant options in the area.Island Grill had the best chicken katsu of any of the Hawaiian BBQ restaurants. Way better than L&L and those chain spots. My "go too" was the Chicken Katsu special with the Chinese chicken salad. I hope it finds a way to come back during these tough times.

This was by far my favorite go to place for lunch and/or dinner. GREAT food at reasonable prices. I'm heartbroken to see it closed for good as we pulled up for lunch. Was here just a week ago too. Praying for the family who owned this and all the kids that they employed. #2020sucks

Really loved this spot... I assume from the signs saying "Thank you Los Al" & "thank you for 22 years" on the door they either moved locations or are completely gone. Very sad and hope to one day have that amazing chicken combo plate with the Chicken salad.

It's a shame the service here sucks. It is true, this particular guy.. I think he is the owner, always acts like you are bothering him. Very rude... BUT the food is good. I keep coming back for the food only. It's really a shame because everyone else that works there are very nice. You do have to ask for teriyaki sauce with your meal because they won't put any on...

Not a fan. I work right next to Ganso Island Grill, so my work has picked up food there a few times because there isn't a ton of options in the area for a quick bite, but we stopped going. Wish they'd bring back the noodles, and trim the chicken better, I just hate having to pull off fat and gristle from it every time. The service here sucks..... they just could care less if you're a customer or not, they almost act like I'm annoying them when I come in to pick up food. The plus here would be the Chinese chicken salad. The dressing is really good and lettuce always comes out fresh.

What happened here? This used to be our favorite, tonight tasted poisonous. We could not choke it down. The restaurant was hot inside, the man who took our order was rude and it looks like they are moving out. Do not go there. I will update this if we get sick in an hour.

Katsu was kind of meh. Their wasn't much flavor. Rice was over cooked and the portions of rice were huge. Teriyaki chicken bowls were decent, just didn't come with any sauce. Pricing was good. Overall probably wouldn't come here again but the food was okay.

Recommend calling to see if they are open before going there. Web site says they should be open but went there at 4pm and they were closed no reason posted. With today's concerns hours are probably adjusted as necessary.

The Chinese chicken salad dressing is AMAZING! The salad itself if kinda plain (lettuce and chicken) but the dressing just makes it awesome! Good portion for the price!

Island Grill is delicious, healthy, and needs your business! As a small business, they have been hit hard by the pandemic, but their food quality remains excellent and they are always a really great value when it comes to price. My son loves their salmon, I am in love with the low-carb chicken plate, and the spam musubi is delicious. If you haven't gone, give it a try. You won't be disappointed.

Been going here for years. It's my go to when I'm craving a spam masubi or chicken Katsu.

The food is fresh and tasty, but vibe isn't so pleasant.

Used to come here a lot during my high school years. Always enjoyed their food. It seems like they made some menu changes. I always used to get the chicken katsu plate. It seems like they got rid of the noodles which I really enjoyed. Not really the same vibe I'm getting from a long time ago. Food is still good and I enjoyed my meal.

This place is great. The cashier there is all business and I wouldn't have it any other way. The teriyaki salmon, saimin, and Chinese chicken salad are my favorites. The food is just plain good and worth the trip every single time.
