Excellent meal and service. Great way to enjoy a Saturday with family.
Service was great. We were accommodated pretty quickly
OTH knows how to do Happy Hour. I came on weekdays and Happy Hour were 3-6pm. The waitress is nice. Overall good food, good vibes and my bff n I have a great time. Would definitely come back again for happy hour.
I went today for the first time did not know there was two fish places in the same building and was not happy with the food at it could of save lots of money if i just went to get a fish sandwich of fish and chips somew else
I love this place the atmosphere is great the food is amazing and the oysters are so fresh. I highly recommend this place but tonight I was a little bit disappointed, Does not mean that I do not like the restaurant but one of my friends had a small accident. The bus boy carried too many dirty plates and dropped one of them on her back. This is not some thing that happened on purpose and we are not mad at the bus boy for doing that, But he left the plate behind her back and being she is not a big woman it kind of hurt when it fell on her , this also stained her jacket and her white shirt. We had to remove the plate we had to help her clean up which I don't think was right the bus boy should've at least remove the plate right away instead of letting it sit in the back of her and walking away with just a sorry.. ( he did not come back to help clean up ) The manager came to apologize very briefly which we could not hear him due to the mask he was wearing . He deducted her dish off the bill. That was not our concern, The point was how everything was handled, I believe that the bus boys should all be trained that if this happened they should react quicker and remove whatever has fallen from the customer instead of saying sorry and walking away. This is a nice restaurant to come to I highly recommend it and I am not downing it at all. But money isn't always important and even after our bill being over $200 , we just wanted a little more sincerity in this matter. The To management of off the hook if you read this please train your bussers to be more sincere when making a mistake. Thank you again and I will always return to the restaurant I enjoy everything.
What's better than a Saturday afternoon lunch of quality seafood with great company? Little else except winning the lottery or cuddling with a dozen adorable kittens. We had the most amazing server, Alycia (hopefully I spelled that right!) and started the meal with an order of the halibut ceviche. This might have been the best ceviche I've ever had, mostly due to the citrus juice. Oh man, it was GOOD. If you're reading this right now, please make sure to try the halibut ceviche! I selected the arugula salad with blue shrimp as my entrée and while tasty, it was a smaller portion that I expected. It is listed in the "salad" section but l'm now wondering if the salads here are considered to be appetizers? The amount of shrimp on it was underwhelming, but did tasteful. The main courses of co-diners on the other hand were hefty in size. They ordered the Verlasso Salmon and Wild Chilean Seabass, as well as a bowl of the world's greatest clam chowder. As an elite Yelp!er, it is my civic duty to sample all food at my table, which I happily did. I found the salmon to be bland, but the seabass was delicious I would 100% order it next time. I normally don't like clam chowder, but OTH might actually be accurate in proclaiming it as the world's best! The OTH experience was tainted a bit at check-paying time when we were told that the $75 gift card we were trying to redeem was for The Original Fish Company and couldn't be used for our meal. We had no idea that they were even different restaurants as they're connected and literally share a patio. I don't think it's a far-fetched assumption to make that gift cards for either would be accepted at both, but we learned our lesson that day. Alycia was very kind in explaining it to us though and I feel for her having to have this conversation with patrons who are probably more upset by it. I guess it just gives us a chance to return and check out the neighboring The Original Fish Co. though!
Is there a cocktail sauce shortage? Apparently our waitress seems to think so. My son asked for extra cocktail sauce & our waitress behaved like I asked to borrow money!! Not good service. Too bad.
Highly recommend. Food and service were awesome. I had the cod and clam chowder. The sourdough bread was also very tart and warm. Will definitely be going back!
This review is mostly 5 stars because of the excellent service we received this afternoon from Melissa our server. First let me say the clam chowder ( white) is still the best on the West Coast ! My intention was just to have a cup of soup and accompany my brother visiting from out of the country as he has never been to Fish &Co or off the Hook . Melissa was so nice and friendly she saw the sun was on us moved the umbrella herself to assist and told us all the specials and what they have on the menu that is unique to the other restaurant Fish &Co. I was also blown away at how reasonable the price points are for the Champagne by the bottle compared to places I frequent in Newport Beach . I will be making a trip back with my friends for afternoon bubbly. Now as far as the food my brother ordered the Fish &Chips . I tasted one piece and it was absolutely delicious crunchy on the outside and tender and flaky on inside came with 2 sides . Melissa refilled our delicious tropical ice - tea . We had intended to order the delicious butter cake but were so full from the yummy sour dough and soup & fish chips passed . To our surprise Melissa brought us a complimentary dessert just because and I of managed to squeeze in a few bites !! Very pleasant experience and I love love the outdoor patio with so many beautiful plants and flowers ! Highly recommend
I normally will always pre-judge a seafood restaurant by their New England clam chowder. Normally if the clam chowder is good, and all the appetizers and entrées will be just as good. And this place did not disappoint! The clam chowder, seafood gumbo, captains platter, and salmon (Cajun blackened) with pesto pasta was simply outstanding. I w definitely be back
We had dinner with some friends out on the patio. The food was excellent. We started with a selection of raw oysters. All were fresh and very tasty!!! We each had something different fir our main, including fish and chips, a lobster roll, a lobster salad and a seafood pasta. All of them were excellent and we each said we'd have it again (our litmus test!). I had the fish and chips and they were simply outstanding. Best I've had in a long time. The service was excellent as well. Our waitress and bus team were on it with drinks, clearing dishes, and were just very pleasant. We really enjoyed their service. We also had the chocolate chip ice cream cookie and the butter cake fir dessert. Both were great, but the butter cake is a DON'T MISS! You have to try it. Fantastic. There was live music out on the patio that evening and while we really enjoyed the tunes and the musicians talent, it was a big loud to comfortably talk. So if you want to visit with your party over dinner, sit away from the stage or you'll be just partying with your party! Great evening!
I got food poisoning from the fish and chips in early June. I emailed the restaurant to let them know and they never responded.
Busy on weekend evenings, good staff, prices are ok for food, alcohol is expensive
We came here for the first time last night, and it was wonderful. Food was delicious! Every. Single. Bite. Will be coming back.
