Excellent Italian, fresh food and courteous service. The La Scala salad with the arugula, beets, goat cheese, and homemade balsamic vinegarette dressing is one of the best salads I've had. Veal Marsala is also very good.

Today was Valentine's however it shouldn't justify to get our meal after 80 minutes. We got our drinks almost after 30 minutes. Bread for olive oil was cold and stale. We ordered Bruschetta and of course the bread was cold and stale. The eggplant in the Melanzane wasn't cook enough, it was a bit cruncy. I ordered Salmon and I think bare minumum should be a warm salmon after waiting 80 minutes. I guess it was microwave heated and wasn't warm enough, almost cold. It might be fine for you, but why would you add black olives to the salmon's sauce??? This is not pasta, the dish was TERRIBLE! I strongly believe this place doesnot deserve such a high rating. That is not reflecting the real experience.

This unassuming place was such a refreshing treat! The ambience was absolutely lovely.Mains were average but desserts were outstanding. We got the tiramisu and triple chocolate mousse going by all the reviews here. The chocolate mousse was impeccable.Will be coming back for more of the mousse for sure :)

The special for the night was palenta and it was extremely dry and not edible. The owner, recognizing that it was really bad, took it off the bill. The fried calamari was not flavorful and ordinary. The lettuce in the Caesar's salad was fresh and crispy but the dressing was bland. My wife's lasagna was good, above the run of the mill and was served piping hot, the way it should be.
Amazing—most restaurants are loud. I'm not into that type of ambience I really enjoy when it's quiet or I can't recall the noise. I want to hear a moderate or energetic ambience then I'd go to a pub, bar, or different restaurant.

This was our first experience with La Scala. We were surprised that the waiter didn't tell us there were specials available that night. One of the main dishes arrived lukewarm & service was not great. The wine selection was wonderful, the variety of dishes were tempting, dessert was super. It was a little disappointing because we've heard great things about this restaurant. We're hoping it was an off night for them.

The food was delicious and I recently returned from a trip to Italy, so I can say that the quality was very good. The service was excellent. Our group of 10 was very comfortable. It was so nice to have great food at a restaurant in Los Altos that was not stuffy or snooty like so many other restaurants. The prices were very reasonable unlike most of Silicon Valley. The staff was kind and helpful with my disabled Dad. I would definitely come back and recommend it to others. I wish more restaurants were like this.
Nice place. Good food and drinks. We hadn't been before. Was Saturday after Thanksgiving and quiet at 6 when we got there. Staff was friendly, food was good and nice place for a family or friends night out.
