Araya's Vegetarian Place

This has been my #1 favorite restauarant in the entirety of LA since moving here. If I am having the worst day ever, I will drive out of the way to Araya’s Place and get the drunken mushroom. Cheri is the best.

I had been to this place yesterday and unfortunately had a very disappointing experience. The person waiting our table seemed visibly irritated and unwelcoming from the start, which set a negative tone. One of the dishes we ordered had a hair in it — they did offer to replace it, but the replacement dish was cold and seemed like it had come straight from the freezer.

When we mentioned this, the response was simply, “Okay, sorry for the bad food,” and they offered a $5 discount. I’ve had better experiences here before, but this visit left me really disappointed. Sadly, I don’t think I’ll be returning.

Absolutely loved this place! We had the spring rolls and Drunken Mushroom—both were delicious and full of flavor. They were able to make the noodles without onion and garlic, which we really appreciated. A great spot for flavorful vegetarian Thai food!

Wonderful vegan food in a gorgeous setting. Relaxed, comfortable and elegant. Price is very reasonable. Delicious.

I am not vegan, but enjoy almost everything on the menu. Great reminder of a place to not always have to indulge in meat. They have fresh ingredients and a nice variety to select from, along with nice and recommendation forward staff. Great spot for dine in or take away. Parking lot is small as it is shared with other businesses.
