Was looking forward to trying this place considering all the raving reviews there were but when I finally did, I was vastly disappointed. The price point for their food is low so as a result the quality of ingredients they use are also low. Most of their faux meats were soy based which is typically okay, but in their case, it just felt like tofu chunks that were barely marinaded. One meat for example; the Al pastor was extremely middle of the road and flavorless. Pretty disappointing considering that Al pastor is supposed to have a rich, sweet and savory flavor. This just had the flavor of a tofu block. I will say that their spicy salsa is very reminiscent of the King Taco red salsa and the tortillas they use for the tacos are good. Other than that, not much or any redeeming qualities about this place. Really sucks because I was looking forward to it.

Decent price for the amount of food you get. It was a lot. The food was good and the sauces accompanied with it were delicious. The presentation was also nice and packaged well for pick up with napkins and utensils. Only issue in my opinion was the location. It can easily be missed and parking was tight--there was so much traffic going on with cars parked all over trying to pick up food. Overall, it was easy to order and food was decent.

I ordered two Big Vegan Burritos ($10 each) with carne asada (very salty) when they were at the OC Vegan Festival yesterday and was very disappointed in the inconsistency in the size. They really shouldn't have the name "big" in the burritos's name. If you look at the burritos in my pic, would you be happy if that's what you got? They also made a mistake on my order and seemed annoyed to fix it. So the unfriendly service just made the meal that much more unenjoyable.

This place is tooooo good. The vegan meat is actually "meaty", well spiced, and each dish is packed with their ingredients. I had the burrito and the nachos and they were BOMB.com. The nachos were my favorite and the cashew cheese is sooo good. The guac is extra but they give you 3 fat scoops so it's worth it. I love vegan food and I'm glad that they have this because it's probably one of the best affordable vegan spots around. The prices are really fair considering it's a vegan place, so i can come here as much as i want without feeling too guilty hehe.

I was craving Mexican food and WOW cena vegan DID NOT disappoint The pollo asado was SOO GOOD I had to double check to make sure it was vegan I got the burrito pollo asado bowl and the nacho bowl with carne asada ** I liked the pollo more!

Well my tacos al pastor did not come with pineapple. I also asked for hot sauce and they covered my tacos in it; i couldn't finish my meal because of how much sauce they put on my tacos. I don't understand why they don't leave it up to the customer to spice up their own tacos, like they do everywhere else. Service was blah/meh.

Cena Vegan is the best vegan Mexican food I've had. So good. The vegan meat options are insane and the immense customizability is unmatched!! The portions are HEFTY. They do not mess around. Their birria meat (recently added to the menu) is my new favorite. I love u cena vegan!!

I discovered Cena Vegan by chance strolling around the Smorgasburg at the ROW 777 Alameda Ave. The vegan menu is excellent. The Taco Trio -delicious - The Nacho Boat - delicious - Taco Birria a la carte - yep delicious. You get to choose two plant-based "types of meat," Carne Asada, Pollo Asado, or Al Pastor, for your entree. I believe Cena Vegan manufactures its plant-based products. One of my favorite vegan Mexican spots! I love their carne asada, pollo, al pastor, and birria. Their vegan meat is really good on tacos and their nacho boat. The nacho boat is loaded with beans, cashew cheese, salsas, pickled onions, all really tasty and a good portion! I have tried their carnitas, but its made out of bean curd and the flavor is too strong, I didn't like it. I think their birria is also made of bean curd, but the birria seasoning overpowers the bean curd taste, so the birria is really good.
