I love this location, mainly because of the super cool staff. They have a real camaraderie, always laughing, joking, and being friendly with the regular customers. It's a great team, and Pollo Loco's food, in general, gets a bad rap. It's fresh, not processed, and pretty tasty. They have off days and some bad locations , for sure, but if you have to do fast food, this is a healthy way to do it.

12-4-23I always get a double chicken bowl. I get it with corn instead of beans. I get a senior discount. I haven't been there in a long time. I used to eat there often.When I got home I checked the nutrition information and found that the bowl has 13 G of saturated fat which is 65% of DV. And 2.3 G of sodium. It's not a healthy meal. I don't think I'll eat there again.Parking: Adequate parking

My nephew was visiting and since he doesn't understand the concept of intermittent fasting, he was hungry and wanted food. El Pollo Loco was nearby so he placed an order online and said it would be ready in 10 mins. I told him it was just 3 blocks away so he could walk. Apparently, he doesn't understand the concept of exercise either because he said if he walked the food would be cold when he got back. Ummm, not if you walk fast. His food was ready when we got there and still hot when we got home. His chicken breast was moist and tender. I had a few bites of the Mac and Cheese. It was creamy and the noodles weren't al dente. It was ok but I've had better. The pinto beans & chips were ok, and the flour tortillas were warm & soft. The salsa had a bit of a kick to it. I do prefer a little more spice. I'll be honest, it wouldn't be my first choice. The food is decent and a good value for the money. The kid enjoyed it. Everyone has different taste. *Located in a strip mall. Parking available.

Service was terrible. I did an online order and it gave me a confirmation ready to pickup at 1:30pm Saturday 11-25-23. When I got to the location I clearly stated my name to the cashier and manager. They informed me they didn't have my order but stated they had an exact order with the name Henry. After double checking they realized the order they had didn't say Henry. It had my name on it. Idiots.
This used to be the best chicken in Highland Park but nowadays it appears that they often overcook the chicken. Today I arrived at 10:15 a.m. hoping for juicy chicken. They had juicy chicken because they opened at 10 a.m. but didn't have their sides ready. They were still stocking items and some batches of chicken were already being over cooked and alarm was going off. I won't be returning to this establishment.

Came in to order food and the lady let us all look at the menu before telling us that they ran out of chicken for the day. Such a waste of time to not just start with that as customers come in. Also need a better handle of their inventory if they are running out of their main ingredient.
