I always pop in Kaldi Coffee if I am visiting Tacos Villa Corona down the block. There isn't a lot of space to sit inside, but they do have plenty of tables outside where people sit with their dogs. A great spot to people watch too! Inside it's very hip. Minimalist vibes with a wall of records and handmade zines for sale. There's usually one cashier taking orders, but the line moves quickly. Simply great coffee and great service. Not a lot of frills or extras. Atwater location with lots of competition on the block; but Kaldi is my go to when you really need a good cup o’ Joe, outside seating, and a relatively quiet spot amidst the hustle and bustle. It doesn’t hurt that it’s next to Dune for lunch and a few good blocks of window shopping (and great small businesses to support) for before or after.

They have both caffeinated and un-caffeinated options which are really nice. They had two new drinks - Ube Latte and Turmeric Latte. We opted for the Ube Latte where they make their own ube simple syrup. The Mexican Mocha is delicious if you wanted some caffeine - it is a nice blend of spices and mocha syrup.
