This is not kid-friendly restaurant that I've ever been. We have 2 kids 1&3 years old. When we were there no customer dine in just 1 waiter he never gave us smile and did pay attention very much. It felt like he didn't wants to serve us. The foods were ok but after we checked and payed for foods. He came and say "you need to watch you kids they make a mess that not ok" and he made face like he upset and shook his head. It embarrassed me because I never been in restaurant that tell me what I nee to do with my kids, they were good sets still on their chair just dropped some rice on the floor and made noise some time. And we were end up by help him cleaned up the floor and table after we paid for foods and some tips. Think positive he might work hard and alone he doesn't have time to clean a mess or he never has kid.

Let me start by saying that I probably would not have ever tried this place based off the Yelp rating if it weren't for someone I know raving about. So glad I did... The spicy miso chicken ramen was SOOO GOOD. I don't know why the overall rating is so low

Food was pretty good, the service was nice, but the prices were not as good as I thought. The For ramen, it costs too much, although I liked that the broth was not as salty as other places. The rolls were decent, especially the spicy tuna roll. I thought the gyozas were from packages bought at a store, not exactly homemade. Interestingly, the curry was probably the best dish here. Unagi was good, but the rice was not made with the best quality. Need some improvement there. The place was pretty clean.

Ordered on Postmates and wait over an hour for it to be the wrong order.. got pork Instead of chicken katsu. And there was a hair in my miso soup.. noticed after I had drank half of it already

The food we had was excellent. I thoroughly enjoyed the salmon skin roll, miso soup, and chirashi donburi. My wife enjoyed the California roll and chicken katsu curry. The salmon skin was nice and crispy, the rice in the donburi was not too vinegary, and the miso soup had plenty of seaweed and tofu, without being too heavy. The quality of fish was also great. Both rolls could have been constructed better, but the taste was really good. The chicken katsu curry was so delicious, we took home leftovers, even though there was only two pieces left. Service was fine, nothing to write home about, and nothing to complain about. Overall, a good experience.

I can see why this place may be popular among students as it's affordable and quick, but don't come here if you are looking for a welcoming environment and authentic Japanese meal. I walked in on a slow afternoon where no one was there besides the owners. They barely looked up or greeted me, and acted cold to me when I asked if I could just get my meal to go and eat it at the table outside--again, no one was sitting there or inside. I work nearby so I didn't want to dine in as I was on a timed meal break. I asked for a cup of water, and the lady almost refused because I'm ordering to go... it's just water, ma'am... Given the questionable customer service, I think it's safe to assume the owners are not Japanese... and i say this as a Japanese person who has worked in many Japanese restaurants. Regarding the food itself, it's affordable and quick, but it doesn't surprise me that all of the people on here raving about the quality of the ramen are not Asian lol... but if you don't care for authenticity and just need a quick bite, this place is totally convenient.

The sushi was good. The vegetable ramen broth was waaaay off. Didn’t even eat it. I’ve had a ton of ramen all over, including Tokyo, and never had a ramen broth taste like that before. Too much garlic and tasteless on the other flavor notes.

Food is decent. Sadly last 2 visits have resulted in patron stating that kids 12 and over requires photo ID by law on top of Covid Vax certificate). When I showed them this last time (on the document attached to their front door and they were referring as the law) that it was actually 18 and older and added that we actually couldn't get Covid for a while, they simply kicked us out, stating they had the right to refuse service. I had been visiting the place for 5 years, regularly. No more.

Very good Japanese American food. Place is small but comfortable. I liked here a lot. The pork katsu was great along with the curry. Not the same as Momma but close. I will be back. I want to try the entire menu. Staff is friendly and professional. Price is reasonable for Westwood.

If they didn't have Ramen as part of their name then maybe I would be so hard on them, but the Ramen here just didn't meet my expectations. I got the chicken ramen, but even the noodles weren't cooked properly. They were too hard. In general it was edible and served its immediate purpose as I was hungry, but it was not a dish I'll return for unfortunately. I was on the move so needed a quick stop fix, they were great customer service wise, speed was good, it was clean and there's one outdoor table and room to social distance indoors. Costs were about average.
