This place was so delicious and fun! The owner was so nice too. It's too bad it closed! Lionel good luck with your next endeavor!

This place is really delicious and seems fairly healthy too. I usually brown bag my lunch as I don't like to waste my calories or money on mediocre food, even if it's just for lunch on a Tuesday, but I've been here now 5 times after discovering it 2 weeks ago. I'm skeptical though. How can it be so delicious AND healthy AND cheap?? Waiting for the other shoe to drop but until then, you'll probably find me here for lunch at least twice a week.

This spot is perfect if you want to eat fresh food at a good price in DTLA. Fresh tasty veggies, nice variety of meats, tasty broth. I've had the lamb meatballs and tofu. Both were exactly what I wanted for lunch. I request lite couscous and it is PLENTY of food.

Lots of open space and a great chance to check out the original old zoo. Plenty of picnic areas for friends and family. Convenient bathrooms very well maintained and conecting trails to hike around park.

This is the best Mediterranean food I've ever had, and I studied in the Middle East during school. The dates with almond butter, the home made mint tea, the fresh veggies.... You must go.

This place is A-MAZING!! It's so delicious and has such a well rounded flavor to most of their items. They have a lot of vegetarian and vegan choices which is great too! I love their orange sliced dessert, it sounds so simple but it's fresh and tasty!! Also love that when I ordered their homemade garbanzo bean snack it came in a cute resealable jar. These snacks are tasty they aren't hard (super crunchy) like the ones you buy in the store. The grilled tofu and stewed vegetable bowl is really good. You can customize which veggies you want to put in it but of course I picked all of them to try them all! My favorite is the carrot. You can choose what base you want your bowl to be and you can add their harissa sauce which is really spicy but tastes so good. They have pickles that are too sour for me but still pretty good. My friend has the grilled tofu wrap and said it was really good. I ordered takeout and I like how they had eco friendly takeout material. It's hard to park though because it's in the heart of the downtown market district area with lots of people and cars but if you order takeout a little later in the day there's a lot of parking a block down the street.

Our cafe hosts several caterers from around LA city, and Palikao was one of them today. Usually the food from other vendors is mediocre at best, but this bowl was amazing. It was so flavorful. Best vendor that has come to DWP. I hope they continue to come, I will commit to get there a bowl each and every time.

I found this place thru MealPal and have really enjoyed their vegetarian selections. Their spices are unique and aromatic. The combinations of vegetables and their light, fluffy couscous in their delicious broth is nutritious, easy to digest, filling, yet not greasy. It's a satisfying, healthy meal that tastes special. I am a regular now.

First time ever having this place & they are so unprofessional! My friend ordered tofu and when she ate it, she didn't like the marinade. When we asked to switch the tofu for something else, they refused to switch it and wanted her to pay extra for whatever she decided on. After going back and fourth, she finally said "here's your free meatball". Avoid this place as customer service is horrible and their health score is at a B.

Palikao. What can I say? I had such a great experience!!! I placed a catering delivery order with the owner a couple days ago for 14 people. I ordered a mixture of chicken, beef, and tofu couscous bowls. The food arrived on time (big huge plus!!!), the service they use for delivery if you book directly through the restaurant is prompt, courteous and efficient. The food....was AMAZING!!! I had the grilled tofu bowl.. and tbh tofu is cool but usually not my favorite....But this tofu was my FAVORITE!!! The bowl came with a side of broth that was oh so tasty.. This bowl really exceeded all of my expectations! It really was an explosion of flavor in every bite. The veggies in the bowl were perfectly cooked and the addition of golden beets were a dream. Everyone in my group enjoyed the lunch, and I was praised for finding this gem for the office. I can't wait to go back and bring everyone here for lunch! The customer service was also A+++!

The French dip place nearby was closed and I could not resist the fragrant aroma coming from this restaurant. I stopped inside and was amazed. The prices are astoundingly reasonable for downtown LA. They're even more reasonable if you are a vegetarian. You have your choice of couscous, quinoa, yellow rice, or a combination of each. The veggie assortment blew my mind. Braised cabbage, roasted golden beets, zucchini, carrots, fennel and another type of squash. All deliciously seasoned. Several meat choices, including grilled lamb sausages, I chose the roasted beef meatballs and was not disappointed in their rich meaty flavor. They top all of that off with a vegetable broth, plain or spicy. The spicy was the right amount of heat for a dude who has a threshold at habanero.

I adore this place! Food: Very original concept and flavors going on here! I always get the bowls and do half rice half cous cous. Every singe meat and vegetable is so packed with flavor, you can definitely tell a lot of love is put into everything. LOVE the eco packaging AND the fact they let me bring my own container. Small bowl will make you full and large bowl is perfect to save for later. I don't know where else these flavors exist in LA. Service: I live nearby and go often. Everyone that works there is SO kind :) Decor: Very clean and cute! Inviting. I just wish they didn't use single use cups for water.

Palikao's signage always caught my attention and once I looked it up on Yelp I knew I had to try it! I got the Couscous bowl with 1 protein, it came with couscous, sweet potato caramelized onions, chickpeas, potato, harissa sauce, zhong spice tofu steaks-- it was a delicious mouthful. Each component of the bowl was incredibly seasoned and tied together well with the harissa sauce, plus the portion sizes were huge. I also got a side of pickled veggies and fresh mint tea. It's a little bit of a walk from the main downtown area for lunch but it's worth the distance.
