I've been going to Tower for YEARS. They are famous for their fried chicken. I ordered it tonight and it arrives without the gravy and the greens that were always served with it. When I asked my server he said it was due to budget cuts and tariffs. Gravy and greens??? Such a disappointment. Ruined one of their most famous dishes. The server said he was “embarrassed” about this change.
It's the Tower Bar, so you go in knowing it's expensive. But for a $125 per person brunch, you'd think basics like coffee would be included, That plus mediocre service & no AC. Will not be returning anytime soon.
After years of good memories here, I was appalled with tonight's experience. The service was condescending and rude from the start - I was aggressively informed upon entering that I could not move any chairs in the bar (even though the bar was half empty). Our waiter chastised us for not ordering a full dinner, even after we ordered over $200 of drinks and appetizers. To add insult to injury, after being rushed away from our table, we went to go take a look at the pool - at which point security swiftly descended on us to tell us the pool was “closed” - even though the area was not roped off and we simply just wanted to take a look. I say all of this as someone who has had 5+ years of wonderful memories here - I understand the vibe they are trying to achieve, but tonight that vibe came at the cost of alienating a loyal customer along with first-time visitors who were in LA from out of town.
Great dinner and energy in restaurant. Noise level was quite high. The only issue was on arrival when they sent us back and forth and then would not seat us as we were 5 min early despite the table being ready?! Disorganized or trying to appear special?
Too loud but nice music with elegant and classic setting that still can gather contemporary crowd.
i have been coming to tower bar for years now. they insisted on seating us on the other side of the hotel, which is basically their side to sit the less attractive crowd, they have never seated me there before and we asked to be moved and they refused. we sat next to a table of actual high schoolers with their backpacks... and then we ordered two tower bar burgers which are just short of $50 each mind you, came COMPLETELY UNCOOKED. RAW. we didn't notice until a few bites in and all three of us all day today have been sick. extremely beyond disappointed in an establishment that i have been returning to for over three years now....
The food and setting is always so lovely and special. Also Barbara the restaurant manager is the BEST!
Dimitri is absolutely wonderful. We are so happy he is back! Thank you, as always, for a memorable evening.
Always such a fan of Tower Bar for the ambiance, history, art deco designs, classic Americana bites, martinis made to perfection and the best staff in all of LA. They treat you like family. Always feel at home at the Sunset Tower ❤️
Such a lovely setting for lunch. Great view and awning covers the sun with a gentle breeze. Delicious food with lots of good options. The hummus made for a great start. The chicken club and burger stood out. Service is exceptional. I would eat there every week if i could. Servers very kind and treat you like family! Will be back!

Still one of the best restaurants in Los Angeles. The vibe.. the service.. the decor and the music! Our go-to for a fun night out as a couple or with friends. Keep up the good work!
Menu was too small. Lobster tacos were good but fell apart. Would have preferred lobster rolls. Maybe they should be crispy. French fries are the best. Ordered Cobb salad to split but it came on one plate so I requested xtra plate. I think our waiter was a bit overwhelmed so a lady manager came by and straightened everything out. As it was a birthday, we wanted cake and were served chocolate chip cookies (delicious btw). If I'd known, I'd have brought a cake. Staff are polite and helpful. Valet guys are terrific. I'd definitely come back for dinner but not for lunch.
Having dinner at The Tower Bar is like dining in an exclusive club. When we walked in, the piano player was on a roll with great songs from the past. Our waiter was personable and prompt. The food, as always, was exceptional and the wine list extensive. The Tower Bar is expensive but well worth it for a special evening out.
We book to celebrate a birthday and we're out into the main restaurant area. The noise of the music was so loud the you could not hear each other speak... what's the point of going out with friends if you have to sit in silence because the music is so loud that you can't be bothered there to communicate m?! Also it's really dark almost dreary!! We went on a summer LA night and it felt like a winter restruant in NY! We asked to be moved to the patio area but was told it was full and we would need to wait over an hour. I asked to speak to the manager and said that I would like to be accommodated outside somehow, he told me that was impossible as all tables were being used. Then a young girl said why doesn't he sit us at a slightly smaller round table?? We did that and it was fine. We overlooked the pool which is really bland they certainly need a few planters to soften a brick wall. They had sunbathing pads on the floor!!! Why?? Where are the loungers? The food was average, pigs in blankets were greasy and the carbonara was pretty tasteless so I had to add a lot of salt and pepper. Overall a very average night!
We went after the lunch rush, so the vibe wasn't as it normally would be, but setting and decor are great. I'm sorry to say, but the chicken paillard actually matched the terrible reviews that other patrons have given it - tasteless nothing! My wife is almost an expert on this dish and she said if this was her first time ordering it that she would never order it again!! I had the club sandwich and it was OK/good. I would consider going back for the after hours vibe which is supposed to be great after like 10 PM.
