I wasn't expecting much about this place. My friend suggested this place and we decided to check it out. Located in the same plaza as 99 Ranch Market & Gen BBQ. Udon Factory is similar to Chipotle but with udon and tempura instead. Choose your bowl size, base, sauce, free toppings, and then tempura for sides (sweet potato, tempura shrimp, spam mochi) which are additional charge. I got the Beef curry udon with poached egg. Definitely hits the spot!!! Arrived around noon on a dreary Sunday morning. Their noodles are flatter than the udon noodles I've had, but just as tasty. I went with a regular size Beef Udon. The broth was really flavorful and the beef was deliciously sweet and savory and egg was perfectly poached. I like that you can add in the amount of broth you want. I used to drive to SF to Marugame for their udon and I was sooo happy when I tried Udon Factory and it really was as good! The dashi broth was perfect and exactly how I like it--very flavorful and is self-serve so you can literally go back for more if you finished it too quickly like I did. The marinated beef was also very tasty and their housemade fresh noodles were the perfect consistency.
