Picassos is the most delicious delu in Modesto, IMO. I always order the Tomato Soup. This time I also had the "Yesterday" sandwich with it and I ate every stinkin bite. Owner is sweet and the food is made with love.

It’s chill vibes. It’s 10am and I’m the only customer here at the moment. I ordered the 1/2 Pablo Picasso sandwich with soup. The soup was a tomato soup with some kind of swirly Basel sauce I think. I got a drink as well, just an iced tea with nothing in it. Everything was really tasty and comforting. Really hit the spot this morning. The price for what you get is alright, especially now a days. I feel the soup portions could be a little bigger. Would definitely bring a friend to try it. Over all and most of all, it’s better than the gross a** subway across the street.

A Modesto hidden gem. I have been here once before for lunch, but breakfast is just as good! I got to meet the owner bright and early, while I was meeting my colleagues and he was kind and very pleasant. Shared that all the art in his shop is made by him, even the tables.

Fantastic sandwiches, soups & salads. Owners make you feel welcome & at home. And the art is from local artists. Everything combined just makes for a great atmosphere ?
Me and my coworker work at an adult day program for disabled adults. My coworker went to make a purchase as our group settled down to have their lunches. The owner walked by and greeted our group than went to my coworker saying we needed to leave. This sadly happens here and there. We weren't even given a chance to let them finish their lunches. As a result we had behaviors. We understand that some places don't allow outside food unless we make a purchase but my coworker did make a purchase and by the time we cleaned up the area most of our people had finished eating. People need to be more understanding and work with our groups. He could have offered outside dinning or tell us to leave once finished. At least give them a chance to finish. I hope as the weather gets warmer more are understanding.

Unfortunately, I have to inform and alert those who have family or friends who are special needs or have mental disabilities, the owner of the shop will not allow them to sit and have lunch in their restaurant if they’re not making a purchase. Which in some cases would be understandable, however I made a purchase and asked my students to sit with me while I have my lunch as well at the restaurant. The owner approached me while I was waiting at the cash register for my order and told me my students were taking up too much of his space. Although, there was plenty of seating at the restaurant considering it was not during a busy lunch hour. My students were very confused and disappointed in his response to us and so was I. As a business that wants the support of their community they did not earn it with the rudeness of his comments that more of my people needed to buy and my hard earn money was not enough. It was very unfair to my make students feel like they aren’t valued and are burden even in a place of business. So to the owner of this establishment, please do better.

Stopped in to grab a drink and bite to go and absolutely loved everything about this place. The owners are lovely. The food delicious. And my mocha was perfect! Fair warning, the horseradish sauce they use on the Van Gogh is no joke!

They don't list it in their online menu but we called ahead and they have gluten-free bread available. My husband and teen went for traditional sourdough but we all really enjoyed our sandwiches. My teen also really liked the side of potato salad. Before we left we bought a bag of the bakers almond flour lemon cookies. I don't think the cookies are a regular menu item but if they have them when you visit definitely pick up a bag. They're the perfect summer cookie. Chewy sweet and lemony. We visited a few days ago when we were on a family roadtrip to visit Yosemite and by unanimous agreement, next time we come through this way we're stopping by Picassos deli.Kid-friendliness: Family friendly casual atmosphereDietary restrictions: Gluten-free bread available. And the baker was on-site to discuss if gluten and dairy were present in different baked good and I had some safe options.

I am here on business and I stopped in for a salad. They made me a spinach salad minus bacon plus tuna, and it was amazing. The dressing on it was very rich and tasty. Very clean and fresh. They were so kind and friendly. If I am ever back in Modesto, I may just have to stop in again. Great job!
Pesto salad and Leonardo was 5/5.
