I would go to Mandarin Deli down on Atlantic about 3 min away for better quality food. We got the lamb with mushrooms, lamb was cut very thin and lots of connective tissue so still hard to chew. The sweet and sour pork was cut thin as well and very tough to chew. The XLBs are considerably smaller than Mandarin Deli, but they were juicy as they’re supposed to be. Spicy dumplings were acceptable but too little filling compared to dough. The only thing that was good was the beef wraps. Plenty of beef inside but again, Mandarin Deli is much better value and quality. Mama Lu is just too commercialized and I will NEVER order from here again. I just give 5 stars cause support Asian businesses.

The West Lake beef soup was all made of tofu, and the clear soup was watery. The crab roe soup dumplings had no flavor at all. I was so sick that I felt so sick that I spent another 50 on medicine.

I didn't expect this restaurant to be such an inauthentic Chinese restaurant. I can only say that the taste is really far from the traditional, authentic flavor. I ordered three dishes, and none of them were edible, basically. The pan-fried buns were just greasier than regular buns but were not crispy on the outside and tender on the inside at all. They were just soft, oily buns. The filling inside was very small, and the quality of the meat was poor. I also ordered dry -fried green beans, but they were undercooked and didn't taste dry-fried at all—it was more like a boiled texture. Even more absurd, the ends of the beans weren't even trimmed, just stir-fried directly. Looking at it like that, I can't even be sure if they were washed. The sweet and sour pork ribs were just covered in sauce, the meat had a strange taste, and it was tough to chew. The only thing worth mentioning is that the waitstaff had a decent attitude, but the flavor and quality of the food were really bad. Personally, I don't think this place qualifies as Chinese food, because it's completely inauthentic. Such a terrible tasting experience

I didn't expect this to be such an unauthentic Chinese restaurant. I can only say that the taste is really far from the traditional authentic taste. I ordered three dishes and none of them were tasty. The basic pan-fried buns are just a little oilier than ordinary buns. The buns were not crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. They were soft inside. The filling inside was very small and the quality of the meat was not good. I also ordered stir-fried green beans which came out very raw and not stir-fried at all. They had the same texture as boiled ones, which was even more exaggerated. What's more, the beans are not picked on both sides and they are fried directly. If you look at it like this, you don't know whether they have been washed or not. The sweet and sour short ribs are all filled with soy sauce and have a taste that is hard to chew. The only thing worth mentioning is that the waiter's attitude is okay, but the taste and dishes are really good. It's very bad. I personally don't think this is Chinese food because it's not authentic at all.

??Love this Mama Lu’s location - not all locations are great, unfortunately! But this particular one is the best! ?

Fast and friendly service and delicious food - can’t go wrong with any of the items. Our faves are the xiao long bao (pork, crab), combination pan fried noodles, beef wrap, chicken and corn soup, chinese broccoli, stir fried green beans and spicy salted pork chop. This is a popular spot so expect a wait time (✅come in early with your entire party ready to be seated) and parking issue (✅we park on the street). We also bring cash to purchase frozen dumplings to take home and eat for the week ?
