Enjoyed this place. They had a real German Pils called Veltins on draft that was a good as what you get in Deutschland. Decent menu, I had the wurst plate which was good. Lively bartenders. Would go here again.

Came here for dinner. Found parking nearby in a residential area. Saw a lot of broken auto glass on 40th Street. Bierhaus is in a new building. Features lots of beer. Has boxes of board games for those who want to spend time here drinking and playing games. I tried the pretzel which was good and the latkes with apple sauce which was also good. My bier sausage on a bun was also good and came with a ton of sauerkraut. Mixed greens were nice and I ordered a plate of spaetzle noodles. Love the butter and the over browning of the spaetzle. Nice service. Nice atmosphere.

Anticipation high as we entered the restaurant which was nicely filled with happy laughing guests. Our group of 5 ordered the large meal to share which is a grouping of almost all the meat in the house...... sauerkraut & potatoes....great idea served with with large steins of beer, also offerred wine etc. Part of the platter serving was excellant but i considered the sausages & ribs under cooked but otherwise a substantial serving , if i was visiting again i would check the doneness of the meal before attempting to eat it...the shredded beef & pork was delicious & the chicken excellent....it was a pity about the sausages & ribs...service was good although exceptionally busy.....it felt like they still need to hone their service....I would give it another go & would love to hear good reviews as its a truly original German style restaurant in the middle of San Fran .

The food was good but not amazing. The beer flight (Schwartz Bier) was excellent. The interior feels like a chain though it isn't really. I would consider going again but not enthusiastically. Really the best dish was the schnitzel. I hope that helps.

Hands down one of the best bars I've been to! Came here for some drinks after eating at Homeroom down the street. My party of 4 came at 5:50pm just in time to catch the last 10 mins of happy hour which is daily 3-6pm. We took advantage and ordered one of everything on the menu. $5 drinks and $5 fries and flatbread even though we were full from dinner? Why not?! I'm not a big beer drinker for but the 2 they had on the menu were pretty nice and sweet for me! We caught the tail end of the NFC champ game while here, Go Niners! Lots of seating and great tv seat wherever you are. They also have a corner of board games to play. We ended up staying here for about 2 hours drinking and playing and watching the game. The staff was super attendant and checked up on us but we never felt rushed to leave. After we asked for our check, they even gave us free ginger cookies! Definitely recommend this place even on non game days.
