Loved the winery. Saved a 2019 to have with special friends here in Newfoundland, Canada.
OMG! I'm sad that I didn't have more bottles.
All the best to everyone!

Fontanella Family Winery was such a cute find—and exactly the kind of small winery experience that makes a girls trip feel extra special. You drive through the gate and immediately get hit with those “we’re really in Napa” views: vineyards wrapping around you in every direction.

We had a lovely private tasting, and it was the perfect pace—relaxed, welcoming, and genuinely fun. One of the highlights was getting taken down to the cellar and sampling wine straight from the barrel. It’s one thing to hear that wine needs to age… it’s another to taste it and go, “Ohhh, that’s why.” Such a cool experience.

The wines were fantastic—like “accidentally start doing bottle math” fantastic. And by bottle math, I mean we may have come home with 1, 2, or 10 bottles. I’m not an accountant, so I can’t be trusted with the exact number. I do know I grabbed a Zinfandel and wow—already looking forward to my next girls wine night so I can open it with a little dramatic flair.

They had several delicious gems, and the whole experience felt personal and memorable. Highly recommend Fontanella—and honestly, this is your sign to mix in more of the smaller wineries. They have so much to offer, and this one absolutely delivered.

Beautiful, small, family owned winery for our girls trip week. Jen, our wine educator, was wonderful and took us on a tour. Wine tasting was great, there is Zinfandel is phenomenal! I enjoyed it so much that I joined their wine club! Would highly recommend stopping at this peaceful and relaxing winery.

We came on a rainy chilly day in January, but it was so cozy and welcoming in the tasting room with the fireplace and visit by Santo the winery cat! Marianne greeted us and is truly the fairy godmother of wine, we loved our time with her and having her share her knowledge and fun stories. We loved all the tastings, but ultimately went home with the Zinfandel to share with our friends. ❤️🍷

What a lovely winery! Our tour and wine tasting were immensely enjoyable. We happened to be there on a crisp sunny day in December, and sat around the fire on the patio. Our guides were extremely pleasant and knowledgeable. I happened to find two wines that I especially loved and am returning home with a bottle of each.🍷

Amazing people + amazing wine = 5 star tasting. This was our first visit to Fontanella Family Winery and it was beyond outstanding. The winery is in the Mt Veeder AVA and venue is absolutely gorgeous. We were greeted by the Fairy Godmother Marianne in the parking area with a glass of Chardonnay. Entering the tasting room we were introduced to Rachel who along with Marianne conducted our tasting. Fontanella was very generous allowing us to sample several wines not on the menu including a barrel tasting in the barrel room. They even provided a plate with cheese, nuts, bread and some pickles to accompany the wines. We spent over 2 hours at Fontanella and enjoyed every second of our visit. Reds seem to dominate the wineries portfolio with wines priced from $40 a bottle to a multi-year blend cab priced at $300. Our experience at Fontanella was perfect. We look forward to our next visit in which we plan to bring friends along with us to enjoy the fun. Easy 5 star rating.

When you arrive at Fontanella, you will immediately feel embraced. I have visited a number of wineries in Napa and this is the first time I have truly felt that. The hospitality Alan showed us upon arrival was truly unique and special in a town full of wineries. The wine tasting was delicious and I loved their unique twists on the classics. I had never met a zinfandel I liked until this day. For the icing on the cake, Karen Fontanella herself came out to greet and talk to us. She is an absolute rockstar! What she and her husband have accomplished, despite the challenges they faced make me want to support this winery beyond a first time visit. I look forward to more visits and some wine shipping to NJ. Don't miss this one on your Napa trip, it's really special and you won't regret it!!!

Absolutely amazing winery in Napa! Do not miss out! Family owned and absolutely self made, they have overcome so many obstacles but their product is one of the best! Owner is the sweetest woman. She is my new hero! Allen does an amazing job at the tasting! Make sure you make an appointment!

Such an underrated winery. We found Fontanella on Reddit of all places as we were looking for a winery close to the center of Napa & we were very impressed with the tasting + tour.

Marianne made our experience one of a kind with her knowledge of both the winery and its different wines, even allowing us to compare a few different years to experience all flavors.

Thank you so much for an amazing time. We will be back!

We had an absolutely amazing time during our Reserve tasting. Mariane was a lovely guide. When coming back, we'll definitely make sure to call ahead and ensure Mariane will be the one taking care of us once again (everyone at Fontanella was lovely, but Mariane just made the afternoon really special). The wines were great, we loved the Viognier and Estate Cabernet Sauvignon. Couldn't have had a better experience!

Very intimate tasting with some of the best hosts! We felt so welcomed and like part of the family. The wine tasted great too! We loved the Zinfandel. Oh, and the dogs were so cute and welcoming!

Came here with my mom and we had such a wonderful, personalized experience. Jen greeted us out the Uber with a glass of wine each, our first tasting. She brought us to a pre reserved area, with my name on a sign, looking out on the vineyard. Pretty sure she let us try a few extra based off where our preferences lie. The port was hands down our favorite, and we also got a tour of the barrel room to include trying some cabernet straight from the barrell. Highly recommend this experience to anyone passing through!!

My fiancée and I had a great, personalized experience at Fontanella! Called and booked day of! Our tour was at 3:30 on a weekday during not peak season, so being the only people there, Ryan sat with us and his breadth of knowledge was at our disposal. He was personable and gave us a glimpse of his extensive knowledge on the growing process and wine-making process, along with the history of the Fontanella Family Winery. He made us feel comfortable to ask any questions on the owners, property, or the incredible selections of Cabernet Sauvignon we got to taste! Karen, one of the owners, even welcome us and sat down just to chat and ask how our trip has been and to learn about us. Ryan then took us into the barrel room, where we got to have a taste directly from the barrel. The small cheese plate/nuts/crackers were great, along with the many hummingbirds we got to see! Overall, a serene and truly enjoyable late afternoon at Fontanella! Highly recommended!

Highly recommend this winery! Everything we tasted was delicious, and our host Halle was wonderful and extremely knowledgeable. Enjoyed the barrel tasting and the small bites that they offered with the tasting. Don't pass this one up!
