This place is popular as it can get. You come there and just hear what people are raving about to get while you’re in line. Have to come back on Thursday to get the special sandwich ?. The fries are ? as advertised. A variety of drinks from the glass bottle also. The smoked double pastrami is a must try tho, and the meatloaf sandwich hit the spot.

Had pastrami on rye...pretty darn good.Typical sandwich piled pretty high with tender pastrami. In addition to pickles and yellow mustard, it had a rather tasty slaw on it as well.Orange soda and "mixed up" potato chips rounded out my lunch.Outdoor patio. Dog friendly.Deli case full of prime cuts of meats. In spite of a short line waiting to order, my turn came quickly. Friendly service and pretty quick with the sandwich delivery to my patio table.Reasonable price for my meal.Decent value for the buck!!

I wish Mario's would open up in Las Cruces NM ☺ 80% of new home ? buyers are from California ☺ California retirees are moving to New Mexico ☺

Mario’s Butcher Shop in Newport Beach, California, is an absolute gem for lunchtime cravings! Owned by the passionate Mario himself, this spot offers an array of mouthwatering delights. The smash burgers are a must-try, bursting with flavor and cooked to perfection. And let's not forget about the beef jerky—simply addictive!Under Andrew's adept management, everything runs seamlessly, ensuring a pleasant dining experience. Zoe's friendly demeanor at the cashier adds a welcoming touch. For something heartier, indulge in the steak sandwich—a delicious treat that never disappoints. And mark your calendars for Thursdays when Uncle Beef makes a limited appearance—it's worth every bite. The chimchurri sauce they have here is out of this world. I love to put it on scrambled eggs. They feature it on their steak sandwich.

I got held up on my review because honestly I had mixed feelings where the food is great the quality of the meat is undeniable. The service falls short in every aspect of the game.Today I went to have lunch and again had a bad experience , but today when I asked to speak to the manager my jaw dropped to find out I was being treated in that manner by (Andrew) the manager. So this message is for Mario if you read your Google reviews you should take a look at who's managing your storefront and has direct access to your clients you're returning clients. And make sure your stor is represented properly and your customers are treated with. Respect.

This place gets it. Owner is very aware of excellent food and excellent service. Pastrami on rye is crazy delisious. Whole menu and store is fantastic. Check it out for sure.

This restaurant is on several Best Of lists for Orange County including Eater's Essentials and Eater's Best Breakfast Burritos. The shop itself is quite cool and has several harder to obtain products. Honestly, if this is the sort of product you're looking for I would recommend either Francisco's Meat Company in Anaheim or The Butchery in Brea and Costa Mesa. For the Breakfast Burrito, it really doesn't deserve to be on the list of Orange County's Best Breakfast burritos. Small, expensive, and tasteless and served with a cheese that tasted like American cheese (though I don't know what was actually in it). Do yourself a favor and go to Tj's Lil Cafe instead.

Steak sandwiches are incredibly amazing. I have been eating here for 3 days straight because I can’t get enough. A steak sandwich (high quality beef and delicous chimichurri), fries, and a fruit punch jarrito is a formula to make someone’s day go from average to AMAZING. A must eat in OC!!

Great food but service has been reduced for some reason! Either my burger or fries were cold when served for the past few times...don't know if they've hired temp helpers or what but NO MORE gratuities for a mediocre service!-(

Hands-down, the best butcher shop, and the food that they serve is the best in town.

GREAT SERVICE ! On Sunday my wife and I rode our eBikes to the Upper Newport Bay Nature Preserve..it was a very cold and windy day ! On the way home we stopped by here for lunch...the food was great on our recent first visit. I walked inside about 1.40pm and said hi to Andrew the GM. I took a menu out to my wife on the patio....it's all outdoor dining here. NO HEATERS ! And it was bloody freezing on the outdoor patio while we looked at the menu. I went inside to order an ITALIAN SUB ( Genoa, coppa, soppressata, lettuce, tomato, Italian dressing, mayo, parmesan, on a roll ) to share plus a serve of FRENCH FRIES. And then it was back on the patio with my wife...it was very cold and very windy. NO HEATERS ! It seemed like a long time but it was probably because we were so uncomfortable...I went back inside to see how our lunch order was coming along. BINGO ! Andrew had things under control and it was ready. The Italian Sub tasted great and the fresh cooked French Fries were a treat but it was SO COLD ON THE PATIO ! Still a great place !
