Best nigiri selection ever! The fish was super fresh and high quality and the service was amazing too. I like blue fin tuna, yellowtail and salmon but never tried seabass in any sushi place before, it was all amazing and we also had oysters and it came with sauce on top already, all top notch and not that expensive if you compare the quality you have. Don't forget to call before you go, there is a lineup most of the time. Wasabi is also pretty tasty and strong not like those imitation ones.
After trying 10+ sushi places in OC, this is the best sushi in this area. The seabass sashimi is world class. All of the nigiris we tried (bluefin, toro, seabass, hotate, salmon) had small touches that added great flavor. We finally found our place!

Family-style sushi place, an absolute must-visit for simple, delicious omakase. Everything about this place was amazing. The food and service, are top-notch!I would recommend calling ahead before you come and asking if they have space at the sushi bar. It was a steal for omakase, especially for the quality of the fish. It reminds me of more classic omakase where the chef just makes different pieces until you are full. You are also able to request specific fish to try or have your favorites again. In my experience, they'll usually serve you 12 pieces and then allow you to request more if you'd like.I will be recommending this spot as it is great value omakase!

Nana San is our favorite sushi restaurant in OC right now. Everything on the menu is fresh and well presented. We especially like that they have consistently had available toro, wild salmon, black and red snapper. The sea bass sashimi was a new one for us which I really enjoyed. Soft shell crab (crunchy) roll was also delicious and my daughter enjoyed it even after learning exactly what it was. Seaweed salad is also worth trying - simple but you can see their focus on quality in how fresh and bright the salad leaves are.It’s hard to get a table here on the weekend but through diligently calling the day of, we have been able to come a couple times with minimal hassle. You just have to be willing to be “on call” for your table.I hope they don’t change anything about this little restaurant. It has a small intimate feel, but still informal and friendly.Dietary restrictions: They can do some adjusting for dietary restrictions, however some sushi/sashimi dishes have accompaniments or sauces that you may want to ask about because they are not expressly called out on the menu.Kid-friendliness: Brought my 9-year old daughter to celebrate her birthday. There have never been any other children there either time we have gone, but the staff are accommodating and the vibe is not too formal or unwelcoming to kids.

Our perennial favorite is uni usually from Mexico. The quality of the sushi and sashimi are still good, however we feel that the quality has slowly decreased over the years. Definitely a place that was a random food search for some sushi and this place was surprisingly great! I loved how light everything tasted and how much flavor was given in each dish. I was so excited about the Blue Crab Avocado Roll, tasted so fresh and delicious! Never had Chicken Karaage but it was pretty good for my first time. I'd come here again to try their options on sushi but overall 8.5/10 place!!!

Omakase with Gorosan is simply the best experience. Always delicious and service is top notch. The freshness of the ingredients shines through every piece of nigiri. Looking forward to our next visit.

My friend has come here for reviews and I finally got to experience it with her. We did not make reservations so we did not get to sit at the counter, which I recommend doing if you can. The food was still really good. I always get chawanmushi whenever I see it on the menu and this one had a lot of fillings. The salmon trio was really good. Will definitely be back.

This is a hole in the wall kind of place. I came across this restaurant by a friend's recommendation and it did not disappoint. Like other suggested, I called around 10a to make a reservation for a seat at the bar. I arrived on time and the staff was able to take me to my table almost immediately upon arrival.I ordered the omakase for a special occasion. The chef asked for any services or anything that I don't eat after that, plates of sushi just started to appear in front of my eyes. I like how the chef prepared a variety of sushi including some of the ones that I've not heard about. One of my favorites was the striped jack. Each individual piece has its own sauce, and the fish was really fresh. At the end of the meal, I was almost shocked by the bill. Not bc how expensive it was but how affordable it was with the type of food served. I will highly recommend this place and come back for future visits!
