I went in and placed an order to take out. When I got home it was horribly wrong and they don't answer the phone.... and it made me sick on top of it all.

Let me tell you about my meal. No wait, I can't tell you about my meal. Because this restaurant refused to serve me. I walk up to the door at 8pm. The sign says the place stays open until 8:30pm. What restaurant closes at 8:30? "No matter," I think to myself, "I know what I'm going to order, and I eat quickly." I enter and take a seat at the counter. As soon as my body hits the seat, a man comes over and says, "I'm sorry Sir, the kitchen's closed." Now, if I've walked into your business, and you run up to tell me your kitchen's closed, you're either a bar that serves food as an afterthought, or you're a restaurant that forgot to lock its doors. There is no valid reason for a restaurant to close its kitchen before its posted close of business. Either you just want your workday to end sooner and you decide to close early, which is illegal, or you don't want to serve me specifically. If you don't want hungry people to come into your restaurant after 8pm, tell the public you close at 8. Better yet, throw in the towel and close up for good.

Poor decision closing on Mondays....observed many customers walking up and walking away on the holiday Monday. Sharky's was very busy.

Although I've only eaten at this particular location once or twice, The Counter remains as one of my favorite burgers of all time. The quality of their ingredients is great, and their burgers are always cooked to perfection. Aside from the food, service is always friendly and accommodating, and the ambience is both fun and inviting. I first fell in love with The Counter after trying the Studio City location. I'm a pretty plain eater when it comes to burgers (ketchup only!), so the "Purist Hamburger" really resonated with me. Ever since, that's about the only item I've tried on the menu. Don't mess with perfection! It's really a shame I don't come here more often.

The food and service were both excellent! My wife and I felt welcomed and the food was delicious. I enjoyed their chili, burger and onion strings. We will be back. That's a promise!

We ordered take-out from The Counter's Toluca Lake location. This was our first time trying any food from The Counter. We were craving burgers and since we always see this location whenever across the street at Trader Joe's, we decided to give it a try. We ordered online which was easy enough. I got the Juicy Lucy ($13.50) which has an angus beef patty filled with melted cheese, caramelized onions, pickles, a type of thousand island they called lucy sauce in a brioche bun. I was so excited for this, having seen the makings of a juicy lucy on various food shows on tv. But this was disappointing. I asked for no pickles and it came with pickles, that was strike 1.... After my first bite, all the oozing melted cheese (im assuming it was american) squirted out the bottom. No more juicy in the lucy. That was strike 2. Strike 3 is the price on this poorly constructed juicy lucy. It was too much for a burger that didnt even hold its form. That was a bummer. My lady got the Bacon BBQ burger ($15.50) which comes with an angus beef patty, tillamook cheddar, applewood smoked bacon, tomatoes, fried onion strings with bbq sauce in a brioche bun. She liked the burger. She said it was decent but not for its price. We also got 50/50 fries and onion strings ($8.50) This wasnt bad. A decent portion but a bit much for an appetizer like that. Food was ready when we walked up, that was a plus. We just missed a fender bender in the parking lot out back. The price was just on the high side considering what you got or for me, what I didnt... A true juicy lucy burger.
