Love this bar! Just came in to meet a friend for a drink and ended up staying through the rest of the night. We met 3 bartenders and they're all amazing! The most friendly and attentive bar staff I've seen in a long time! The food was okay and definitely filled us up, the drinks were cheap, best happy hour!

They have seriously upgraded their sound system. Sound man is efficient and runs a tight ship. No more lolly gaging by the bands.

Universal Bar and Grill is such a special place, there is No other place like Universal Bar and Grill in the world. And it's the only place I know where I can sit down and have a nice meal and watch amazing and original bands .

I just went the other day after visiting universal studios for my birthday. If you are looking for a fun music venue this place is awesome. We got mojitos which were pretty good and the staff were all so friendly. Side note the fries were pretty good so that's a plus but, we came for Jazz night.
Went on a Tuesday around 9 so maybe not a great indicator of fun. Margaritas were cool standard. It was comedy/karaoke night. Split early so I didn't get to see if things picked up. Would be curious to come back. Felt like a dive bar lots of 80s hair metal paraphernalia. Played billiards too.

We decided to split their fried chicken and eat on the patio. The service was good, but the chicken was terrible. It was dry and seemed to be mostly composed of breading and bone. The cold slaw had little taste. Sorry, no recommendation here.

The cheddar grilled cheese was really good.Fried pickles could have been better. Drink was nice and strong for the money. Handicapped accessibility was good for a bar.Kid-friendliness: There was a young man there, everyone was polite and family friendly.Wheelchair accessibility: Ramps were available. Bathroom was usable.
