Great chinese restaurant, the noodles are very fresh and the meat tasty. The beef roll appetizer is a good size. Everyone liked the soup as well. My only wish would be a way to make the dish spicy without chili oil as it makes the dish even more oily.

This was our first time at this location. They didn’t have some menu items that we have seen at other locations.
It’s a nice big open place with plenty of seating. Be aware of the tables where the air blasts down on it. They had plenty of staff. Good customer service.
The best thing was the pork dumplings, which did come hot! Tastes delicious with soup inside.
The fungus salad was a little too vinegar tasting. The seaweed salad was a good size. Tastes crisp and yummy!
Chongqing Crispy Chicken was very spicy, even at medium heat!! Eat with rice…the perfect combo!!

The young lady in the front (hostess?) has an attitude problem and was very strange to my mother and me. She refused to speak to us in Chinese (we are native speakers??), but I know for a fact she was doing it on purpose—when we came in she spoke in Chinese, and had an accent speaking English. I have no idea why she would do that. Made me feel weirded out the rest of the day. They were playing very explicit music a little bit too loud for my taste. The knife sliced noodles are yummy and our server (attractive young man with an olive complexion) was very nice. Lots of parking and indoor seating. Prices are okay.

10/10, most authentic Chinese food you can find in the valley. couldn't be more impressed. i wish there were more vegetarian options however, such as a vegetable chow mein and a green bean dish without the meat chunks. bok choy would be a great addition to the menu also. good service.

Great food, fast service, comfortable seating. Only 4 stars for service because I had asked for hot tea waitress came back and said they didn't have hot water!?!? So Weird 🤯
Everything was great. Atmosphere feels very homey. Will definitely return. Plus, I lost my glasses and they ran to my car to return them to me.
Northern Chinese cuisine is so good! We were in the mood for some good dumplings and noodle, and I remembered that I wanted to try this restaurant Northern Cafe right by CSUN.
It's a nice, spacious restaurant with plenty of booths and windows. The staff were friendly and the food came out on time, so that's a plus there.
Now when it came to our meal, we definitely enjoyed everything that we ordered. We started out with Garlic Chicken Wings and Popcorn Chicken (not spicy at all, but delicious), and they both were great starters, especially if you like having the saltier side of your fried chicken. The Popcorn Chicken is almost addicting and it's easy to finish it before you know it.
Then out comes the House Special Beef Noodle Soup which I think is almost a mandatory must-have. I did wish I went with hand-pulled noodles instead of the regular noodle, but you can't go wrong with any of their noodle options. The broth was, warm, calming, and steeped in the wonderful aromatic beef flavor, while the noodle and beef were cooked to near perfection. Add some (or a lot) of chili oil, and you have yourself some noodle nirvana!
The handmade Juicy Pork Dumplings may be hot (caution), but slurping the hot soup out of them was half the fun! They were well made and were just a treat. 8 pieces are plenty to start so they're not stingy with their portions.
Finally, the Angus Beef Fried Rice was our last dish and it was quite good although it fell a bit short compared to the other dishes. It's not that it was not tasty, it just wasn't as tantalizing and was a bit more one-note and could have uses a bit more kick in the flavors.
All in all though, I'm looking forward to coming back to try more of their menu!
The Juicy Pork Dumplings in Handcraft Dumplings Section menu actually look and taste like Costco frozen ones. Left picture from Northern Cafe; right picture Costco frozen. All exactly 12 folds, machine made, grocery store available.
