We came by for dinner and got some recommendation for non-spicy food. The service was excellent and the food came fast. The food was not spicy but it did lack something although it is not bad by any means. It may be our fault for asking non-spicy so next time will have to try the regular spiced food.

We are blessed with a lot of delicious Ethiopian food options in this neighborhood but this one is my favorite. I recommend the veggie combo platter.Vegetarian options: Veggie combo platter

Very friendly staff. The restaurant itself is very fitting of Ethiopian food. The best part is obviously the food. Stunning & diverse taste! This restaurant is incredible for adventurous eaters.

First time trying Ethiopian and I had a great time! Not only was the service quick and friendly, the food came piping hot and was absolutely delicious. Couldn’t ask for anything better :)

The food was delicious and the service was excellent. I have been to several Ethiopian restaurants and this is by far, my favorite. The restaurant isn't packed which is really nice. Prices are great too.

I love Ethiopian food and this place doesn't disappoint, complete within chill vibes and friendly hosts. Veggie Combo (my half).

Got the veggie combo & extra injera. You definitely don’t have to order extra injera because they give plenty per combo plate. Rookie move on my part. However I highly recommend this place. I only got takeout but when I tell you I knew I was in the right place just by the smells of this place! Friendly experience & quick with the order.

A centrally located Ethiopian eatery, with bar, doling out a streamlined menu of classics.Yebeg alicha wot — lamb stewed in savory, mild sauce — was served alongside a wonderfully tangy, housemade injera and salad. An added plus are its selection of Ethiopian beers rarely seen elsewhere.

I am so surprised that this restaurant does not have a line out the door every day. The food is delicious, the location easily accessible, and the staff so friendly and kind. No matter what we order when we come the food is always mouth watering and fresh. Seasoning is so flavorful and the drinks good too. There is nothing you can get that would be a bad choice!
One of my favorite Ethiopian places in Oakland. A bit pricier than others but worth it for the authentic ambiance and A+ food.

The people that own the place and that work there have great customer service but the delicious food is inconsistent. Some times it's great, sometimes ok but yesterday pretty bad. Which is sad because often they have satisfied a huge craving. However as of yesterdays purchase I will no longer purchase one of my favorites, the fish tibs. There was actually a backing soda flavor and I didn't finished the meal. Pretty upset about this last visit.

Veg platter is great. Injera is amazing. Portions are tiny for $14. For $2 more go to Cafe Coluuci and get 4x the food and a bit more variety in the veg platter

I love this place and have been coming for at least 5 years. Clean, attractive decorations, a special hand-washing sink. I like to get the vegetarian sampler platter (the meat sampler is also good). Fish Tibs is a winner - slightly crispy and nicely spiced boneless pieces of tilapia. I love the collard greens as well. Good and friendly service. I brought 4 friends here tonight and they all thought it was excellent!

There are tons of Ethiopian places in Oakland and Temescal/Elmwood, but this one is still my favorite. Always fast service, reasonable prices, friendly customer service. Their veggie combo platter has the most generous servings compared to other Ethiopian restaurants, and they always get my special requests right (extra gomen, don't skip the cabbage). =)
