Went here for dinner after a long day of work while in town. The food was amazing, and i have to say the carnitas mole was 5 star good. Chips and guacamole were steller along with my churros for desert. Highly recommend!

Expensive but Good food and strong drinks. Tried the 3 mole and chicken mole dishes. Had the Gertrude and El Tule Margaritas. I liked the El Tule better. Fast service. The ambience is nice inside. At least on Tuesday morning there was plenty of street parking.

Enjoyed this restaurant. Had tacos with veggies and salad. Atmosphere was very good. Had 8 people in my party and the brought one check. They graciously split them up. Had two appetizers shared with my team.

Went there for Oakland's restaurant week, but instead, order off the regular menu. Food is reasonably priced. The chip, salsa, and guacamole were delicious. Got the Tlayuda with carne mixta, the meats were tender, and it was so much that I had to take it home. Highlight the tequila ice cream, I loved it. All the food was amazing, can't wait to go again.

we had a reservation but they wanted to put us at a high top - we had to ask for a manger to get this resolved- the food is great, service great - BUT they don't give you the happy hour menu unless you ask AND they overcharge you at the full price unless you read the bill and tell them - then they correct it -

The service was absolutely fantastic tonight. They really went above and beyond tonight. My toddler was making a mess and they were exceptionally helpful with him. The waitress fixed a slightly wobbly table without me noticing it was wobbly totally on the fly. The food was really good too. We wished we had space for dessert. Really good atmosphere too.Kid-friendliness: We’re pretty adventurous with dining out with our toddler and they accommodated us so well. The whole staff was exceptional.

Great atmosphere , great service , the food was average at best . Looks pretty coming out . The flavor was not there . Had the mole just hardly any taste . The guacamole very bland . Lots of super tasteless food . I was extremely disappointed. I heard nice things and was from out of town .

High-end Mexican cuisine, expertly prepared. Not cheap Mexican fare, but a good value given the quality of food. We shared an adequate Guacamole and chips, but my thin cut steak (Tasajo) was tender and delicious. Had a surprising dressing of saute'd mushrooms, tortillas that seemed house-made or at least hand-made and fresh, rice and beans. Impressive selection of mezcal and mezcal-based cocktails. The internet went down after our order, delaying our meal (we didn't even notice), and the friendly waiter comped me a glass of wine for the trouble. He also generously emptied the remains of a bottle of mezcal my partner was drinking for me to try. Generally dont' like mezcal, but this was floral and delicious. When looking for a meal of especially good mexican food, I'd run back to Agave.

This was my second time at this restaurant. I love this place! The food is great. Everyone works. There is very nice and friendly. And the ambience is great. You really would never know it from the outside not much curb appeal but once you get closer and peek in the windows, you see the warm glow of the great lighting and the fun atmosphere. I will definitely be back.
We went to Agave uptown before a show and had a good time. The food was good and came out fast. The service was a little slow on drinks. But they were busy so perhaps due to that. We would definitely go again.
