I absolutely adore Arzimendi! I've been to this location and the Valencia st location in SF and everytime I go, I am reminded of how much I love it. The baked goods are delicious and affordable. The pizza is divine and it's so fun to see what new slice comes out each day. Arizmendi is also a co-op so I'm happy to support them with my service as much as possible!

I became a fan of Cheeseboard pastries and pizza after being a student at Cal. The oat scone has always been my favorite-hearty and buttery. For some reason I've always thought the pizza was better at Cheeseboard though vs here, otherwise the pastries taste the same. Since Cheeseboard is out of the way sometimes, I'll hit up Arizmendi since it's the same co-op with closer locations and the same great baked goods. And, with $2 at about coffee cup-what's not to love? There's no better way to start the morning than with a cup of coffee and a pastry!

I can't speak for the bakery part but frequent here for vegetarian pizza. I haven't had a bad pizza from here and like that they always include 2 additional slivers with each purchase. Place is always busy but line goes by relatively quick. If desire, can also order online and pickup.

Excellent scones, muffins, sourdough bread, cookies, granola ... my favorite item right now is the english muffin, which is big, tangy, and delicious. A lot of people will tell you they like the pizza, but there are some things you should know. First, the pizza will be served to you at about 1,000 °F. Eat it too soon, and you'll burn yourself, but don't wait more than a couple minutes, because this pizza at room temperature is not very good. Second, there is only one kind of pizza per day, so you have to go to their website (or just show up) to know if it's something you'd want to try. They routinely top the pizzas with the likes of cauliflower, yogurt sauce, and kale, but, nine days out of ten, can't be bothered to include tomato sauce, which isn't even a topping, it's just a fundamental part of pizza. In the movie Inside Out, when the Anger character says, "Congratulations San Francisco, you've ruined pizza," this type of pizza is what he's referring to. Three stars for the pizza, five stars for everything else.

This is one of my favorite bakeries ever! It is HEAVENLY and I definitely recommend. It is exactly like Cheeseboard in Berkeley: it is both a bakery and pizza place and they have the BEST pizza and baked goods. They're all super fresh, amazingly high quality, and extremely flavorful. The service is fast and friendly and you pay by honor system - meaning, you stand in line infront of the pastry cases and when it's your turn, you choose each pastry you want and put it in the provided bags, then you go to the register to tell them what you grabbed and pay. You can also order coffee and/or pizza at the register - I recommend getting coffee here if you are just getting a standard drink, but if you want something fancier or more complex, I'd get it from somewhere else! This place is super popular and located on a busy street so the line is usually long and parking is hard. I recommend coming early on a weekday or weekend as the pastries have JUST come out of the oven and are heavenly soft, buttery, warm and so fresh. Also, the line will likely be shorter and parking will be easier. Recommended Pastries: Morning Bun Banana Bread Currant Scone Sweet Sticky Bun Shortbread Cookie Corn Cherry Scone Double Corn Muffin Sourdough Croissant Chocolate Walnut Cookie Sourdough Chocolate Croissant I also recommend any of the pizzas and green sauce! They're all so good. All in all, this is one of the best bakeries I have ever tried and I 1000% recommend coming here!
