The service was excellent, timely, and friendly. I had the shrimp and grits and it was exactly right: consistency, cheese, the shrimp, everything was top of the line. Also had a cream biscuit and jelly and let me tell you: you're not beating this anywhere close to the bay.I can't recommend it enough and will absolutely be back. The only drawback was the outside seating wasn't good: the table was not sturdy (which honestly i would not have put up with anywhere else, i would have left. so that's how good the food is) and it was cold even though there were heaters.

UPDATE‼️ The owner responded (Thank you) Although I can’t respond - Google lists your establishment as “Black Owned” as I search for Black owned Restaurants near me? Your food is great but I am definitely going to write Google about this.)I was near Oakland and hungry! The San Francisco location was such a delight, in addition I’m all about supporting Black Businesses! This location was packed as well at 12noon on a Saturday ? I wasn’t in the mood to dine in so I ordered to go. The time was accurate, the separation from the main restaurant was nice! Next time I will definitely take a seat. The food was BOMB! Just like the City location, the service was professional and direct. This owner has their business down and must treat their staff nice, which I look at as well. Thank you for saying wing and SERVING wings ??? The sauce was delicious and fries perfect! No HINT of cross contamination with Fish. DOUBLE PLUS for this as my mother did many of Church dinners and I know this is a sign of integrity AND cleanliness. Salute ✊??

This is easily one of the best breakfasts I've ever had. Quality ingredients and extraordinary preparation.Of the limited amount that I've tasted I can say that the pork belly was among the best I've had, and the catfish and grits is of similar quality. The fried chicken is also excellent. I also tried the bignets which were absolutely incredible, even for someone who tends to dislike sweet appetisers. The service is not doting, but is friendly. If something is spilled they will expect you to clean it up, and everyone will be open to quick conversation when they have time.It is a bit pricey, expect to spend 20-30 dollars per person, but I feel that the expense is more than justified. Happy eating!
Went there for breakfast, and I have no complaints.

First of all, I ordered the Blackened Tofu with minus the corn succotash, spinach, mushrooms, and potatoes. When the waitress brought my plate it looked like horribly mixed mess. Second, the tofu should’ve been separated from the mushroom, spinach and potatoes, so the customers have the option of mixing their food themselves. Third, the entire meal was flavorless and overwhelmed by potatoes, The star of the platter was tofu that should’ve been enhanced more, because it was very little. I’m going wait a little while before returning, to see if there’s improvement with the southern cuisine.Vegetarian options: The blackened tofu ??

The shrimp and grits were unacceptable, it was greasy, the shrimp had the tails on which should have been removed, because it a parent were to give their children some they could possibly choke, and it was more of a dip than thickness how grits should be. The shredded cheese should’ve been sprinkled over the top at the last minute and then served to the customer. The food lack the southern appeal and did not taste southern. Thank you for your service.

It's really important that your staff pay attention to food allergies. I stated I had celiac disease. Literally I can only enjoy like 2-3 things on the menu. I ordered only 2 items and one of them was not what I ordered and it was gluten item that I definitely didn't request. I also mention that I had celiacs diease. I could also understand if it was busy, but there was literally only 2 others guest in the entire restaurant at the time.Dietary restrictions: They don't care about getting people sick.

Really poor quality of staff, lots of talking, joking, extremely rude to customers, like we are inconveniencing their play time, lots of staff , only a few wno are working, poor very poor service dirty menus dirtyseats dirty tables extremely poorlymanaged. And the kicker staff was so busy eating the food and taking it home. We asked our waiter for the bill, 25 minutes later, he got his food and walked out the door. How to lose business!!!!Too bad ?Get new management. The one on Polk puts this place to shame.

First time, and loved it. Great vibe, delicious food. The grits were too rich-cheesy for my taste but my mother-in-law loved them. Biscuit and tofu BBQ po'boy absolutely on-point, and coffee delicious.Great vibe in the room and just a lovely meal all around.
