Fried chicken had a grainy rather than crispy texture. It was as if the batter had not been cooked

Haven't been to Chai Thai Noodle for a while, way before the pandemic. Probably 5-6 years, sister said they have $5 happy hour noodles samplers (4 kinds of noodles- see photos for the specials).I suggested order 2 different bowls of noodles per person if you're hungry, that's only $10! The boat noodles were our favorites.

Food, amazing. Service terrible. We ask to add shrimp to our curry, the server forgets and admits to it, does not apologize and brings a side of heated up shrimp to add into the currry saying "it should be fine". Shrimp tasted plain and we asked to have some curry to add some sauce to the plain shrimp. He did not even listen and brings a side of just curry sauce. He charges us for the shrimp and a side curry. We ask at least to not pay the side of curry, we gave him to credit cards to split the bill. Charges my friend the whole amount of money, when confronted he said "I didn't see it, what do you want me to say". Will never be back, food is a 10 service 0

Okay, I've had Thai food literally all over the world and this is the best I've ever had. Neighborhood is awful, but the restaurant itself the service amazing make up for it. I ordered The pad thai, the pad see ew, add a tie ice tea.

The only negative thing I can say about this establishment is that the location is plagued by the neighborhood it’s in, which is obviously in all levels of decay. Please be safe. All of this is not restaurant’s fault! Street Parking only. The food is very good. Pineapple Fried Rice, Pad Kee Mao, all the curries and all the soups are amazing. Bon appétit!

If you can't get food in Thailand, this is a great backup. They have a vegetarian menu now, too.

I’ve looked all over Oakland and alameda, and this is the only Thai restaurant that serve pad woon sen, and it’s delicious. I haven’t had anything else here yet, but I’ll definitely come back to get more noodles, and someday I’ll dine in. Service is also excellent.

My visiting Chai Thai Noodles a few days ago was not my first time. I have dined here a few times in the past.Chai Thai located in East Oakland is a small restaurant with an extensive menu. They're consistent in the preparation of their food - delicious and yummy. This restaurant was one of my late mom's favorite. These are the following items I recommend: Pineapple fried rice, pork legs stew soup with rice stick noodles, the curry dishes and the lychee tea. The portions are generous and the prices are reasonableThe neighborhood is a little sketchy. Street parking can be problematic. Another drawback is there is no handicap access to the restaurant. There are at least five steps to climb up to reach the entrance of the restaurant.

Impossible to order from for pick-up. They don’t honor their commitments from the apps, they don’t answer the phone, and they don’t honor their open hours. Cross your fingers if you take the chance to order from them.

An Oakland staple, been around for years. Delicious food, great prices, and good service, always. They also have other locations in Hayward and Berkeley that are just as good. Try their sister restaurant, the Saap Avenue for the perfect date night spot with a full bar and delicious cocktails.

Me and my husband went to this place 30 mins to closing time. The curry khao soy was a hit.. The dishes were good.. But the tofu was sour for some reason which was a little disappointing.
