This hole in the wall sushi spot is over the top. Don't come if you are on a tight budget. You will just be torturing yourself. Ankimo is sometimes on the menu. The fish selection is lovely. The Chirashi at $38 is worth every cent. There are only 6 tables and 5 bar seats. Don't be surprised if there is a wait. Take out won't disappoint but if you can stay for service the staff is very attentive.

Geta is delicious. Fish is fresh, unagi is bomb. Just please wait for your whole party to arrive instead of walking in and out one million times crying about a very clear and necessary policy letting all the cold air in and waft over my hot don buri.

It was awful. It seems like the sushi chef was on vacation. Too much of everything see photo shows how thick the fish is and grotesque amount of real crab with Mayo. Sushi ought to be a delicate endeavor. This was sloppy and I just couldn’t eat it boohoo!

I am extremely disappointed with the service at Geta. This restaurant has been our go-to Japanese place for a long time since it first opened. Even during the pandemic, we continued to support them by ordering food. Today, I walked into the restaurant and requested a table for two, explaining that my husband would be joining me shortly. The waitress rejected my request, stating that their policy doesn't allow it. I offered to order for two people since they were closing soon, but I was rejected again.I expressed my frustration, explaining that I would pay for the food, and my husband was on his way. Unfortunately, they remained inflexible and unfriendly. I even spoke to the owner, who shockingly suggested that if I didn't like their policy, I should not come back. This is not how a business should be run. It's an unfriendly attitude towards loyal customers.Despite the service, the quality of the food has also declined. This will be my last visit to Geta. The food and service have deteriorated significantly. I won't be returning or supporting them in the future.

I feel everything has gone downhill since chef Ono left. The food quality is not great anymore, but the price keeps increasing. Even my favorite chicken udon has completely changed, and the soup tastes cheap. The service is rushed and pushy. It's not the same getta anymore. I won't go back again.

Always wanted to try Geta and finally got to do it during Thanksgiving break yay! Cute and very small and cozy place. Only few tables so come prepared for the scene :) I did not as I came with my child and stroller hahaha but we made it yay!!!Staff is friendly and food comes out quick! I love the cozy feelings you get inside and the kitchen is right there making their magic happening.Loved sharing the miso soup, mackerel and salmon Nigiris, negihama and unagi rolls. The warm light sake was delicious as well. Generous portions of fish, fresh and great prices. Would come back again with my husband or a friend!

Nestled at the corner of 41st street, the infamous pint-sized Geta serves up decent sushi at affordable prices (for Bay Area standards). My friend and I came just before 6 and got seated almost immediately. Do keep in mind that they require the whole party's presence before seating you, but such is expected when the restaurant literally has just four tables. We split a Karaage don, rainbow roll, and agedashi tofu to share. All of which were great! Albeit far from the best I've ever had but definitely won't leave you disappointed. The roll came double layered with fresh fish atop and almost bursted at the seaweed seams with crab salad. The Karaage Don was incredibly decadent, leaving my friend and I with ample leftovers. When the bill arrived, we were shell-shocked upon seeing the total price and just ogled the low number for minutes. I could wax poetic about the food's quality and price all day. The restaurant's eccentric decor includes cute Japanese stickers showcasing the daily specials which is a nice touch. Next time, my friend and I will probably share two rolls and maybe a special. I get the hype now. Though the price looks standard on its face, the portions are huge without the sacrifice of quality.

dunno how i've never rated this spot as my family as been going for over a decade. went last night with a friend, and have been frequenting more often due to the proximity to my pilates studio. still so good. value, service, and flavors are great. my bestie from the city treks over monthly to come.

Still good but not as good as the first times. Dragon roll a little stale. The girl servers are delightful. I do take out. The young man was a bit confrontational. Ok. So it wasn't sweet potato fritter. It was sweet corn croquette. Boohoo. And it was cold anyway .

I should've ordered some toro today! Freshly cut and fabricated into morsels for your pleasure...

Went here for YEARS, and today is sadly the last time. My tempura was half cooked and it wasn’t good. Salmon was okay. But for 20 and 24 dollars for the bento chicken and beef boxes there was only 4 pieces. :/ I loved you Geta, back when you were good but today I have to say Sayonara. I won’t be back. :/

Plain Udon was $5 in 2011, it's $13 in 2023. Chicken Udon is $18.41 w/ tax. Nothing special; in fact there was some gristle in the chicken. Stick to ordering sushi here.
