We were the third table in the whole restaurant when we got there, but waited over an hour to get our meat. And this was not all you can eat. We simply were waiting for our a la carte meat. Waiters are nice but don't believe them when they say it will just be five more minutes. Each five minutes turns into half hour or more. They can't keep straight what we still have to be delivered. We had way better experiences at Korean BBQ restaurants etc. Faster turnaround on food and more quantity else where. Having said that the meat was good. But not for the value. Salad was too salty.
My husband and I absolutely love this restaurant, it has been a family favorite since 2017. Every time we come we always order several meats, garlic fried rice and at least 3-5 different appetizers. We have 3 kids so we always order a ton and with happy hour the price is great. Our server was amazing, he was very attentive and very kind to my kids (some servers don't even acknowledge kids) but he was friendly and just on top of it all. Over all the food was delicious and service was a 10/10, would 100% come back to this location!

Just had dinner at this restaurant. The food was good, the server was good. We went for happy hour and ordered all of our food and drinks at once and even confirmed with our server that it was still happy hour until 5:30pm. Enjoyed the meal and received the bill. Was charged for an extra beer that I did not have, which they subsequently removed. Was also charged for everything at regular prices. When the server went to ask the manager about it, he came back and said that happy hour was only until 5pm.I looked it up on their website and showed them, the general manager happened to be there, and it said on their website 5:30pm. He then went to check and came back and said it was only input into the system after 5:30pm so there was nothing that he could do.Extremely poor customer service and disappointing, we will not return after this experience and will not recommend it to any friends or colleagues.Manager apologized and refused to correct the bill so we left. Will not be returning, plenty of other similar options who want repeat business.

We had high hopes for our special Mother's Day celebration at this restaurant, choosing their multi-course meal option. Unfortunately, the service didn't meet our expectations. Despite our excitement, there were significant delays in receiving our food, leaving us feeling let down by the overall organization of the dining experience. It appeared that there were some issues with preparation, possibly exacerbated by a shortage of staff. While waiting for the main courses, we made do with drinks, myself having consumed 4 glasses of coke and some plain rice, unexpectedly filling us up. Regrettably, we had to leave before having the chance to enjoy the much-anticipated highlight of the meal, Gyu-Kaku's beef BBQ. This experience left us feeling like we had wasted both our time and money. It certainly wasn't the memorable Mother's Day experience we had hoped for.

Beverages and dishes kept rolling seamless. Unforgettable! Definitely a great place to enjoy a meal and have fun. Will return soon! I would first like to say the food was amazing and the service was great but when we got there, they said that they did not have much control over their OpenTable relationship and they tended to overbook those reservations and therefore we need to wait 15 to 20 minutes. This was troublesome because we had four-year-olds in our group and it was terrible with no place to sit or wait. I question how this restaurant is managing their OpenTable reservations. If you think you're gonna have a certain time, they are not gonna respect that.
I took my GF here for date day and man was this a hit! She loved all the different options and sides! Our waiter was new so he was a bit slow but when another waiter noticed us looking for him he took right over! The drinks were bomb and portions were perfect! Will definitely be going back!
This is my go to spot before/after every time my family flies out of OAK or is picking someone up from there. My kids love the gyoza, chicken karage, and bibimbap. I love all the meats! I signed up for the Gyu Kaku rewards program and always get a free item whether it’s an order of smores or meat, or the best one is 25% off up to $25. For three adults and two kids, we can have a dinner with appetizers, salad, and everyone wishing they wore elastic waistband pants for around $130. Super great value considering the quality of the food and meats! The service is always speedy and the staff are very nice. We park in the lot across the street for about $5-10 flat and have never felt unsafe in the area (even with my 9 and 5 year old in tow). Reservations are always easy and many walk in without them and are seated promptly. Great job Oakland Gyu Kaku!

Apparently you can’t do AYCE if you have more than 6 or 7 people. Restaurant “rules” wasn’t clear when we made the booking. Otherwise service was friendly. Make sure you clarify before going as a big group.
