Not great. Small-ish rolls. Ponzu sauce was bad, tastes like soy, vinegar and that bottled fake lemon juice vs a light and tasty ponzu, not a good sign. This place seems to be here to earn vs serve delicious food. They cut corners and don’t go to much effort.Eel was a good quantity but came straight from the cold fridge. Unagi is right when it’s a bit warm, at least room temp. You know that nice smell sushi has? Opening this takeout container I had to sniff twice as it smelled a bit not good. Only tasted a little less than fair. The decent ratings it has? Well, most people just eat mediocre sushi and think it’s good, but if you know food or know sushi, pass on this one. It’s just cashing in on its location I’d say.

We stumbled in here on a whim and it's become one of our favorite spots. It's very relaxing, calm inside and cozy little parklet outside. The service is really good, the servers are all really sweet and attentive. Now for the food, definitely worth the 5 stars! They have a lot of veggie options which is really nice, the avo-kyo roll is my favorite! The hand rolls and classics are all really good, lots of great flavor combos. The fish is very fresh and so flavorful! Definitely worth a stop in if you're looking for a chill night with great food!

This restaurant provided 'average 'Japanese cuisine, not really tasty, authentic, or impressive. Operated by Cantonese people (Chinese), their portion was kind of small. The bento box does not really fit the standard size, using Edmabe beans to fill up the space. The restroom was located outside and had an outdoor setting as well. However, I will not try it again. Rockridge side~ College Ave has a lot of good restaurants, others will be the better choice for sure.

We seek out the best bento box locations around town, and so decided upon Judoku since we had yet to dine there. Located right on College Ave in Rockridge, amongst many restaurants, it is hard to choose sometimes. But, we were set on a bento box for dinner. They have a permanent parklet for outdoor dining, which is great, and each 'section' has a barrier between them so you feel like you are in your own little booth outside. Our servers were nice and efficient. The bento boxes were well laid out and contained a good amount of food. The teriyaki chicken and the teriyaki beef were both a bit overcooked which we did not care for. Everything else was pretty good. This bento does not come with salad, but they do give you edamame in it's place. Also, the seaweed used in the miso soup and the California rolls was super thick and kinda tough and chewy. Not sure if it was just this batch, but it was not very appealing.

Post COVID and new location, Judoku still one of the best sushi places in the East Bay (at least)! Creative rolls, amazing quality, great service, every single time I'm there.

Came down to Oakland to visit some fam and as we were exploring the area and enjoying the weather. We started craving some sushi, so this spot was nearby and had several booths outside. It was a nice setup and indoor seating was also available. There were a few groups, so most of the outside seats were filling up for dinner. We ordered the oyster karrage and it came with 5 pcs. This may have been the best thing I had here. The breading was light yet crunchy, and the oyster to breading ratio was perfect. I could have eaten the whole plate myself. We ordered a few of the popular rolls to share. The judoku, Honda, and cherry blossom, which the majority thought was the best out of the bunch. It seemed like other people were getting the hot food and it seemed very popular. The short ribs meal and bento boxs looked and smelled really good so next time I'm around gonna have to try that out. All in all, nice neighborhood sushi spot. Also, folks in the comments really like the miso and it ended up getting talked about with my group, who also enjoyed it.
We had a take-out that was ok, but we expected more for the price paid. The avocado in one roll was really not good, and fish was ok. Gyoza and beef teriyaki were delicious.

I really enjoy going to Judoku. They have plenty of vegetarian and vegan options. They have the basic rolls but also have some more fun rolls as well to try if you are vegetarian. Their salads are tasty and the staff is very friendly.

Walked in last night without a reservation and were seated quickly and efficiently. We ordered several rolls and a chicken katsu dinner and were very pleased with the variety, flavors, quality, and presentation.

First time here and will now be our usual place. Ramen was good; leaked lobster was yummy; miso soup was tasty and the California roll was not the usual you get from other Japanese restaurants. Place was nice. Service was great and staff members were attentive.
