Quality and presentation is great and the food is good. However, a great meal (especially the Indian cuisine) isn’t just about sustenance. The Ingredients and Spices are the magical tools, adding depth, warmth, and complexity to every dish transforming ordinary meal into extraordinary experiences. So with that in mind, I recommend the sizzling dishes, we had fish and prawns which were good & tasty. I was not impressed by the Chicken Tikka Masala which is my favorite dish, it was too ordinary and just dull. The Fish curry was ok. The rice is too ordinary and not what I expect for an Indian Basmati rice. Nan/Garlic-Nun are good as well as the Samosas. 3.1/2 Starts for Food.(3= Good, 4= Great, 5= Exceptional.)

I liked the tenderness of the chicken in the curry coconut dish. Other dishes were good too.

Our go to Indian food place! We love Khana Peena. Food is always delicious. My husband who is Indian loves it and so do I. Service is always above and beyond as well! The restaurant is clean and I like the vibe of the outdoor area as well.

Delicious as always, service was great... honestly the go to spot for Indian cuisine. Talk about some of the architectural designs of the place, making this a land mark for the community.

Wasn't thrilled I have definitely had better here in Fremont. The food was mediocre. Very bland for Indian food I expected my taste buds to be pleased. Also the naan tasted like it was old posit from the day before Wasn't fresh as all. 2 stars because our server was nice

This is our neighborhood go-to for Indian food, a family owned and run business that hires staff who are also super friendly and caring. The food is really good -- and if you like it spicy don't be afraid to order it Indian spicy. That is the key. Delicious cocktails as well. P.S. To the reviewer who said the food was bland, saag paneer is a typically mild dish ... I ate it in India and thought it was boring, but I was with people who don't like spicy food. :) The key at Khana Peena is to select the spice level of the dish you're ordering and if you like it spicy go for the spiciest.

Their chicken tiki masala with naan and rice is my favorite food. ever. It’s so insanely delicious. Every time i’m in town it’s basically the only thing i’ll get for dinner. Always super fast to order and friendly service. I LOVE THIS PLACE!!

Nice location on College and atmosphere outside is quaint, yet modern at the same time. Such incredibly friendly service, even if the server had a few too many tables so a tad slow. Otherwise would give 5 stars because the food quality and preparation were excellent. The tandoori chicken was among the best I've had, samosas were very tasty, and you often get bland ones. Tikka masala was buttery, not spicy so depends on what you prefer but I'd like it with more kick. Overall strong recommend.

I've always had warm service here. The portions are big, which I know people seem to like, but honestly I could use a little less. It's still my go to.

It's a pleasant ambiance, the waiter was super friendly, the food was tasty, and the portions were generous. The lamb was tender, garlic naan was good, eggplant dish was flavorful and warming, and they have brown rice available if preferred. I'll definitely be back.

My favorite Indian restaurant in the Oakland. Love, love the coconut lamb curry and chicken tikka masala. The samosas are amazing too. Definitely recommend!
